5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

1. Remove the lid from the main body of the trash can.
2. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
3. Open the battery compartment cover.
4. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).

2. Place a standard 3-gallon trash bag into the main body.

5.3. Placing the Lid

Align the lid with the main body and gently place it on top. The motion sensor will activate once the batteries are installed and the lid is correctly positioned.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Motion Sensor Operation

To open the lid, simply wave your hand approximately 6-10 inches above the motion sensor located on the front of the lid. The lid will open quickly (within 0.3 seconds) and remain open for about 5-6 seconds before closing automatically. This touchless operation promotes hygiene.

6.2. Manual Operation

For extended opening, you can press the manual open/close button on the lid. Pressing it once will open the lid, and pressing it again will close it. This is useful for tasks requiring the lid to stay open longer, such as changing the trash bag.
