4. Setup & Assembly

Assembly requires careful attention to detail. It is recommended to have two people for assembly, especially when handling larger components or placing appliances.

  1. Prepare the Area: Choose a flat, stable, and clean area for assembly. Ensure sufficient space around the pedestal for your washing machine and dryer.
  2. Unpack Components: Carefully unpack all parts and verify against the package contents list.
  3. Assemble the Frames: Connect the two square frames using the footrest connectors and fasteners. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
  4. Attach Footrests: Securely attach the 8 footrests to the bottom of the assembled frame.
  5. Assemble Drawers: Follow the specific instructions provided with the mounting material to assemble the two drawers. This typically involves attaching the drawer boards, runners, and handles. Ensure drawer runners are installed correctly for smooth operation.
  6. Insert Drawers: Once assembled, carefully slide the drawers into the designated slots within the pedestal frame.
  7. Position Pedestal: Move the assembled pedestal to its final desired location. Ensure it is level.
  8. Apply Anti-Shock Mats: Place the 8 anti-shock mats on the top surface of the pedestal where your appliances will rest. These mats help absorb vibration and prevent movement.
  9. Place Appliances: With assistance, carefully lift and center your washing machine and dryer onto the pedestal. Ensure they are stable and their feet are within the boundaries of the pedestal's top surface.

5. Operation

The Vonia Washing Machine Pedestal is designed for straightforward use once assembled.

  • Appliance Use: Operate your washing machine and dryer as usual. The elevated height provides easier access to the appliance doors and controls.
  • Drawer Storage: Utilize the two integrated drawers for storing laundry essentials such as detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, or other household items. Pull the handles to open and push to close.
  • Stability: The anti-slip and anti-vibration mats, combined with the sturdy steel construction, help maintain stability during appliance operation, especially during spin cycles.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and continued safe operation of your pedestal.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder-coated finish.
  • Check Fasteners: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Inspect Mats: Ensure the anti-slip and anti-vibration mats are in good condition and properly positioned. Replace if worn or damaged.
  • Drawer Operation: If drawers become stiff, check the runners for debris and clean if needed. Do not force drawers open or closed.
