BLACK+DECKER Cat and Squirrel Repellent Outdoor Solar Motion-Activated Water Blaster Jet Spray (Cobra)
Model: Cobra
1. Product Overview
The BLACK+DECKER Cobra Water Blaster is a solar-powered, motion-activated device designed to humanely deter unwanted animals from your garden or property using a harmless jet of water. It provides a safe and effective solution for managing pests such as deer, rabbits, foxes, squirrels, skunks, raccoons, birds, bears, cats, dogs, and rodents without the use of chemicals or traps.

The device features a motion sensor that detects movement within its range, triggering a brief burst of water. This sudden spray and the accompanying clicking noise from the sprinkler valve startle animals, encouraging them to leave the area and learn to avoid it in the future. The system is designed for water efficiency, reactivating only when new motion is detected.
2. Package Contents

3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your Cobra Water Blaster:
- Battery Installation: Ensure the 2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries are correctly installed in the battery compartment. The device typically comes with batteries pre-installed.
- Attach Ground Spike: Securely attach the metal ground spike to the bottom of the main unit.
- Positioning: Choose a location in your garden or yard that requires protection. Ensure the solar panel on top of the unit receives direct sunlight for optimal charging.
- Insert into Ground: Firmly push the metal ground spike into the soil until the unit is stable and upright.
- Connect Water Hose: Connect a standard garden hose to the hose connection port at the base of the unit. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
- Adjust Spray Preference: Adjust the water sprayer unit to direct the spray in the desired area. The spray angle is adjustable up to 360 degrees.
- Activate Device: Turn on the water supply to the hose. The device is now ready to detect motion and activate the water jet.
4. Operating the Device
The Cobra Water Blaster operates automatically once set up and activated. It functions effectively both during the day and night.
- Motion Detection: The integrated motion sensor detects movement within a range of up to 30 feet and an approximate detection angle of 120 degrees.
- Water Jet Activation: Upon detecting motion, the water jet is activated for approximately 5 seconds. This sudden spray, combined with the sound of the sprinkler valve, startles the animal.
- Water Efficiency: The device is designed to be highly water-efficient. The water sprinkler will only reactivate when new motion is detected after a brief pause, preventing continuous spraying.
- Coverage Area: The device can effectively monitor and protect an area of approximately 650 square feet.

5. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Cobra Water Blaster, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Solar Panel Cleaning: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may obstruct sunlight and reduce charging efficiency.
- Motion Sensor Cleaning: Keep the motion sensor lens clean and free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, mud) to ensure accurate detection.
- Water Nozzle Check: Inspect the water nozzle for any blockages. If water flow is weak or erratic, gently clear any debris.
- Hose Connection: Regularly check the hose connection for leaks and ensure it remains securely fastened.
- Winter Storage: In freezing temperatures, disconnect the water hose and store the unit indoors to prevent damage from ice expansion.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Cobra Water Blaster, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device not spraying. | No water supply, low water pressure, dead batteries, obstructed sensor. | Ensure hose is connected and water is turned on. Check water pressure. Allow solar panel to charge or replace batteries. Clean motion sensor lens. |
| Device spraying constantly. | Sensor continuously triggered, faulty sensor. | Ensure no constant movement in detection area (e.g., swaying branches). Reposition the unit. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
| Short detection range. | Obstructed sensor, low battery charge. | Clean motion sensor lens. Ensure solar panel receives adequate sunlight for charging. |
| Weak water spray. | Low water pressure, clogged nozzle. | Increase water pressure from the tap. Clean the water nozzle. |
