  4. Mount the Microphone: Gently screw the Ovedisa USB microphone into the shock mount. Ensure it is securely fastened but do not overtighten.
  5. Attach the Pop Filter: Connect the pop filter to the arm stand or directly to the microphone. Position it a few inches in front of the microphone to reduce plosive sounds (like 'p' and 'b').
  6. Connect the USB Cable: Plug the smaller end of the provided USB cable into the port at the bottom of the microphone. Connect the larger USB Type-A end to an available USB port on your PC.

Operating Instructions

The Ovedisa USB Gaming Microphone PC is designed for ease of use. Once connected, it should be automatically recognized by your operating system.

  1. System Recognition: Upon plugging in the USB cable, your computer (PC, Laptop, Tablet) should automatically detect the microphone as a new audio input device. No additional drivers are typically required.
  2. Select as Default Device:
    • Windows: Go to "Sound Settings" > "Sound Control Panel" > "Recording" tab. Select "Ovedisa USB Microphone" as your default recording device.
    • macOS: Go to "System Preferences" > "Sound" > "Input" tab. Select "Ovedisa USB Microphone" from the list of input devices.
    • Other Devices: Refer to your device's audio settings to select the USB microphone as the input.
  3. Adjust Input Level: In your sound settings, adjust the microphone's input level (gain) to an appropriate volume. Monitor the input meter to ensure the signal is strong without clipping (distortion).
  4. Optimal Placement: For best results, position the microphone directly in front of your mouth, typically 6-12 inches away, with the pop filter in between. This helps capture your voice clearly and minimize background noise due to its cardioid polar pattern.

  5. Using the Foam Windscreen: For additional noise reduction, especially from breath sounds or light wind, place the foam windscreen over the microphone capsule.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Ovedisa USB Gaming Microphone PC:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the microphone and stand. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity. If disassembling, ensure all components are stored safely to prevent loss or damage.
  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or kinking the USB cable excessively. Always grasp the plug, not the cable, when connecting or disconnecting.
  • Handle with Care: While durable, avoid dropping the microphone or subjecting it to strong impacts, which can affect its internal electronics and sound quality.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Ovedisa USB Gaming Microphone PC, try the following solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Microphone not detected / No sound input
  • Loose USB connection.
  • Incorrect audio input device selected.
  • Faulty USB port.
  • System audio driver issue.
  • Ensure the USB cable is firmly plugged into both the microphone and the computer.
  • Check your computer's sound settings and select the "Ovedisa USB Microphone" as the default input device.
  • Try connecting the microphone to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Restart your computer. If the issue persists, check for updated audio drivers for your operating system.
Low volume or distorted sound
  • Microphone input level too low/high.
  • Incorrect microphone placement.
  • Background noise interference.
  • Adjust the microphone's input level (gain) in your computer's sound settings.
  • Ensure the microphone is positioned optimally (6-12 inches from your mouth).
  • Use the pop filter and foam windscreen to reduce plosives and ambient noise. Record in a quiet environment.
Arm stand is unstable or bends easily
  • Desk clamp not tightened sufficiently.
  • Desk surface is too thin or fragile.
  • Ensure the desk clamp is securely tightened to a sturdy surface.
  • If your desk is thin, consider adding a protective pad or a thicker piece of material between the clamp and the desk to distribute pressure and prevent damage.
