3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

  • Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  • Check for any shipping damage or missing parts against the 'Included Accessories' list. Contact your dealer if anything is missing or damaged.

3.2 Handlebar Assembly

  • Attach the handlebar to the main shaft using the provided clamps and bolts. Ensure it is securely fastened and positioned comfortably for operation.

3.3 Attaching the Guard

  • Mount the safety guard to the lower part of the shaft, above the cutting attachment. This guard protects against flying debris.

3.4 Installing Cutting Attachments (Line Head or Blade)

  • For Line Head: Align the line head with the shaft and secure it using the retaining nut. Ensure the line is properly spooled.
  • For 3-Tooth Blade or 40-Tooth Saw Blade: Place the blade onto the shaft, ensuring it sits correctly on the support flange. Secure it with the washer and retaining nut. Always ensure the blade is installed with the cutting edge facing the correct direction.
  • Always ensure the engine is off and the spark plug cap is removed before changing cutting attachments.

3.5 Attaching the Carrying Strap

  • Attach the carrying strap to the designated hook on the brush cutter shaft. Adjust the strap length for comfortable and balanced operation, distributing the weight evenly across your shoulder.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Fuel and Oil Mixture

  • This is a 4-stroke engine. Use unleaded gasoline and separate 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., 4T oil).
  • Fill the engine oil reservoir with the recommended 4-stroke engine oil to the correct level, as indicated by the dipstick.
  • Fill the fuel tank with unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill.
  • Never mix fuel and oil for a 4-stroke engine.

4.2 Starting the Engine

  • Place the brush cutter on a flat, stable surface.
  • Ensure the cutting attachment is clear of any obstructions.
  • Set the choke lever to the 'START' or 'CHOKE' position (usually closed).
  • Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible in the bulb.
  • Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start or starts briefly.
  • Once the engine fires, move the choke lever to the 'RUN' or 'OPEN' position.
  • Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts and runs smoothly.
  • Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before engaging the throttle.

4.3 Operating the Brush Cutter

  • Hold the brush cutter firmly with both hands.
  • Maintain a balanced stance.
  • Engage the throttle gradually to bring the cutting attachment up to speed.
  • Use a sweeping motion to cut grass or vegetation.
  • For tougher growth, use the blade with caution, ensuring no hard objects are present.
  • Avoid hitting hard objects like rocks, fences, or concrete, as this can damage the cutting attachment and the machine.

4.4 Stopping the Engine

  • Release the throttle.
  • Press the engine stop switch to the 'OFF' position.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your brush cutter. Always ensure the engine is off and cool, and the spark plug cap is removed before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the brush cutter, especially the cutting attachment and guard, to remove grass, dirt, and debris.
  • Do not use high-pressure water directly on the engine or electrical components.

5.2 Air Filter

  • Check the air filter regularly (e.g., every 10 operating hours) and clean it if dirty.
  • Replace the air filter if it is heavily soiled or damaged.

5.3 Spark Plug

  • Inspect the spark plug periodically (e.g., every 25 operating hours).
  • Clean any carbon deposits and adjust the gap if necessary. Replace if worn or fouled.

5.4 Engine Oil

  • Check the engine oil level before each use.
  • Change the engine oil after the first 20 operating hours, then every 50 operating hours or annually, whichever comes first.

5.5 Cutting Attachments

  • Line Head: Replace the cutting line when it becomes too short or worn. Refer to the line head instructions for proper reloading.
  • Blades: Inspect blades for sharpness and damage. Sharpen dull blades or replace bent/cracked blades immediately.

5.6 Storage

  • For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor.
