Y&H SP-2200W-12V-M80A

Y&H 2200W Solar Hybrid Inverter

Model: SP-2200W-12V-M80A

Introduction

The Y&H 2200W Solar Hybrid Inverter is an all-in-one solution designed for off-grid solar power systems. It integrates a 2200W pure sine wave inverter, an 80A MPPT solar charge controller, and an AC charger. This unit is compatible with 12V lead-acid (sealed, AGM, gel, flooded) and lithium batteries, providing reliable AC230V power from DC12V sources. It is suitable for various applications including RVs, camping, boats, and home emergency power.

Note: This inverter is designed for single-phase 230V voltage and is not compatible with 110V split-phase voltage. For 110/120V US home appliance equipment, an external converter (not included) is required to step down the 220/240V AC power to 110/120V AC power.

Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions and cautionary markings on the unit and the battery before installation and operation.
  • Do not disassemble the inverter. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Ensure all wiring is correctly sized and properly connected to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Install the inverter in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials and excessive moisture.
  • Ensure the battery is fully charged or has sufficient voltage before connecting to the inverter.
  • Always disconnect all power sources (PV, AC, Battery) before performing any maintenance or wiring.
  • Avoid installing near bedrooms, as the cooling fan may produce noise (50-70 dB).

Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup and connection of the Y&H Solar Hybrid Inverter. It is crucial to follow the correct sequence to ensure safe and proper operation.

Official setup guide video for the Y&H 2200W/3200W Solar Hybrid Inverter, demonstrating the connection sequence for battery, AC input, AC output, and PV input.

Connection Sequence:

  1. Connect the Battery: Ensure the battery is connected first. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals securely to the inverter's battery input.
  2. Connect AC Input: Turn on the AC input switch. After connecting to the mains, the AC/INV LED will turn from blinking to long on, indicating a stable AC connection.
  3. Connect AC Output: Connect your AC loads to the inverter's AC output terminals.
  4. Connect PV Input: Turn on the PV input switch. Connect your solar panels to the PV input terminals.
  5. Turn on the Inverter Switch: Finally, turn on the main power switch on the inverter.

Disconnection Sequence:

To safely disconnect the inverter, follow these steps in reverse order:

  1. Turn off AC Output: Disconnect all AC loads.
  2. Close PV Input: Disconnect the solar panel input.
  3. Turn off AC Input: Disconnect the mains AC input.
  4. Turn off the Inverter Switch: Power off the main inverter switch.
  5. Disconnect the Battery: Finally, disconnect the battery terminals.

Operating Instructions

The inverter offers various operating modes and customizable settings via its LCD display and function buttons.

Inverter Charging and Discharge Modes

Diagram illustrating the four charging modes (CSO Solar First, Utility First, SNU Solar and Utility, OSO Only Solar) and three discharge modes (SUB Solar First, USB Utility First, SBU Priority).

LCD Settings Navigation:

Use the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll through settings, ENTER to select, and ESC to exit.

PV Maximize Power Generation Setup:

This setting (Option 16, C50) prioritizes solar charging. When the battery voltage drops below 11.3V (Option 12), the inverter switches to mains charging. When the battery voltage reaches 13.5V (Option 13), the utility power stops supplying and switches to battery-assisted power supply.

BMS Lithium Battery Communication:

For lithium batteries with a PACEEX.05 BMS system, set Option 05 to 'Lib'. This allows the inverter to communicate with the battery's BMS, enabling it to view the lithium battery voltage through the inverter's LCD. For user-defined lithium iron phosphate battery settings, use Option 05 'USE'.

  • Option 26: Set charging cutoff voltage (e.g., 14.4V for lithium iron phosphate).
  • Option 29: Set stop discharge voltage (e.g., 10.8V for lithium iron phosphate).

Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the inverter's exterior clean and free from dust and debris. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked.
  • Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the inverter operates within its specified temperature and humidity ranges.
  • Battery Health: Monitor battery voltage and performance regularly. Refer to your battery manufacturer's guidelines for specific maintenance.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your inverter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power/No Display: Check battery connections, battery voltage, and ensure the inverter's main switch is ON. Verify AC input connection if applicable.
  • No AC Output: Check for overload conditions. Disconnect some loads and restart the inverter. Verify AC output wiring. Check for fault indicators on the LCD.
  • Battery Not Charging: Verify solar panel connections and voltage. Check AC input connection. Ensure charging settings (Option 16) are correct for your battery type.
  • Fault Indicator On: Refer to the inverter's LCD display for specific error codes. Consult the detailed user manual (PDF) for corresponding troubleshooting steps.
  • Unusual Noise: The cooling fan may produce noise during operation (50-70 dB). If the noise is excessive or unusual, ensure proper ventilation and check for any obstructions.
