Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up and install your Qualirey Solar Sound and Light Alarm Motion Sensor:

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the alarm units and accessories from the packaging. The package includes 6 motion sensor alarms, a DC charging cable, and screws for mounting.
  2. Initial Charging: While the device is solar-powered, it is recommended to fully charge it via the DC charging port before first use, especially if solar exposure is limited initially. DC charging takes less than 1 hour.
  3. Mounting: The alarm features a stainless steel bracket with keyhole slots for wall mounting. Use the provided screws to securely attach the alarm to a desired location. Ensure the solar panel faces direct sunlight for optimal charging.
  4. Placement: Position the alarm where its motion sensor can effectively detect movement within a 5-8 meter range and a 125-degree angle. Consider areas like gardens, lawns, driveways, or sidewalks.

Operating Modes

The alarm offers four distinct operating modes, selectable by pressing the power button located on the back of the unit. Each press cycles through the modes. The product will flash for 8 seconds when changing modes, and is not active during this period.

  • Mode 1 (Day & Night - Flash and Alarm): The alarm will activate with both sound (129 dB) and flashing lights when motion is detected, 24 hours a day.
  • Mode 2 (Day & Night - Flash Only): The alarm will activate with flashing lights only when motion is detected, 24 hours a day. No sound will be emitted.
  • Mode 3 (Night - Flash and Alarm): The alarm will activate with both sound and flashing lights when motion is detected, only during nighttime hours. It will not operate during the day.
  • Mode 4 (Night - Flash Only): The alarm will activate with flashing lights only when motion is detected, only during nighttime hours. No sound will be emitted.
  • Mode 5: Turn off.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Qualirey Solar Sound and Light Alarm Motion Sensor, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Solar Panel Cleaning: Periodically clean the solar panel to remove any dust, dirt, or debris that may obstruct sunlight and reduce charging efficiency.
  • Charging: The device primarily charges via its polysilicon solar panel (6-8 hours for a full charge). For faster charging or during prolonged periods of low sunlight, use the provided DC charging cable.
  • Battery Life: A fully charged alarm can last up to 30 days on standby. Regular solar exposure will maintain the charge.
  • Waterproof Rating: The alarm is IP65 rated, meaning it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets. While designed for outdoor use, avoid submerging it in water.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your solar alarm, consider the following:

  • Alarm Not Activating:
    • Ensure the device is switched on and in the desired operating mode.
    • Check for sufficient sunlight exposure for the solar panel. Low battery power can affect functionality.
    • Verify that the motion sensor is not obstructed and is positioned correctly to detect movement within its 5-8 meter range and 125-degree angle.
  • False Alarms:
    • Environmental factors like strong winds, heavy rain, or extreme temperature changes can sometimes trigger false alarms.
    • Ensure the alarm is not placed too close to moving objects (e.g., swaying branches) or heat sources.
    • Low battery power may also cause erratic behavior, including false alarms.
  • Weak Sound/Light:
    • Confirm the battery is adequately charged.
    • Clean the solar panel to maximize charging efficiency.
