7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Machine

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance. Always unplug the machine before cleaning. Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust from the feed dogs and bobbin area. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.

7.2 Needle Replacement

Replace the needle regularly, especially if it becomes bent, dull, or if you notice skipped stitches. Use only needles designed for household sewing machines. Loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, insert the new needle with the flat side facing the back, and tighten the screw securely.

8. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For more complex problems, please contact customer support.

8.1 Skipped Stitches

  • Cause: Incorrect needle, bent needle, improper threading, or incorrect tension.
  • Solution: Ensure the correct needle type and size for your fabric. Replace bent needles. Re-thread the machine carefully, ensuring the thread is seated correctly in all guides. Adjust tension as needed.

8.2 Thread Breaking

  • Cause: High thread tension, poor quality thread, needle inserted incorrectly, or burrs on the needle plate/hook.
  • Solution: Reduce upper thread tension. Use good quality thread. Check needle insertion. Inspect for any rough edges that might snag the thread.

8.3 Machine Jamming

  • Cause: Thread tangled in the bobbin case, fabric pulled too hard, or excessive lint buildup.
  • Solution: Turn off the machine and carefully remove any tangled thread from the bobbin area. Avoid pulling fabric forcefully. Clean the bobbin area regularly to prevent lint accumulation.
