Thank you for purchasing the Elechelf Countertop Ice Maker. This manual provides important information regarding the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

This ice maker is designed for household use, producing up to 33 lbs of bullet-shaped ice per day, with a rapid ice-making cycle of 8-15 minutes for 9 pieces of ice. It features a self-cleaning function for easy maintenance.

Important Safety Information

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury when using your ice maker, follow these basic precautions:

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Do not touch the evaporator when the unit is making ice, as it may cause frostbite.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Supervise children closely when the appliance is in use.
  • Unplug the ice maker from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • The refrigerant used in this appliance is R600a, which is flammable. Handle with care.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, tape, and any labels.
  2. Placement: Place the ice maker on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources (like stoves, furnaces, or radiators). Ensure there is at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space around the unit for proper ventilation.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior of the ice maker. Refer to the "Maintenance" section for detailed cleaning instructions.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the appliance's requirements (120V AC).
  5. First Use Recommendation: For optimal performance, it is recommended to let the unit stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in, especially if it was transported horizontally.

Operating Instructions

Making Ice:

  1. Add Water: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with clean, potable water up to the "MAX" fill line. Do not overfill.
  2. Select Ice Size: The Elechelf ice maker offers two sizes of bullet ice. Use the control panel to select your desired ice size (Small or Large).
  3. Start Ice Production: Press the "ON/OFF" button to start the ice-making cycle. The "ICE MAKING" indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Monitor Progress: The first batch of ice will be ready in approximately 8-15 minutes. Subsequent batches may be faster. You can observe the process through the transparent window.
  5. Ice Full Indicator: When the ice basket is full, the "ICE FULL" indicator light will illuminate, and the ice maker will automatically stop production.
  6. Add Water Indicator: If the water level in the reservoir is too low, the "ADD WATER" indicator light will illuminate, and the ice maker will pause. Add more water to resume operation.
  7. Harvesting Ice: Use the provided ice scoop to remove ice from the basket. Bullet ice is not designed for long-term storage within the machine; transfer ice to a freezer for preservation.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ice maker.

Self-Cleaning Function:

The Elechelf ice maker features a convenient 7-minute self-cleaning function.

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled with clean water.
  2. Press and hold the "CLEAN" button (refer to your control panel for exact button). The self-cleaning cycle will begin, indicated by a specific light or sound.
  3. After approximately 7 minutes, the cycle will complete. Drain the water from the reservoir using the drain plug.

Manual Cleaning:

For thorough cleaning, especially if the machine has not been used for a while:

  1. Unplug the ice maker from the power outlet.
  2. Drain all water from the reservoir by removing the drain plug at the bottom.
  3. Remove the ice basket.
  4. Wipe the interior of the ice maker with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a mild detergent or a solution of water and vinegar (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water).
  5. Clean the ice scoop and ice basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  6. Rinse the interior of the ice maker with clean water several times to remove any detergent or vinegar residue. Drain completely.
  7. Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling and storing or using again.

Important: Clean the water tank of the ice maker weekly for optimal performance and hygiene.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ice maker, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.
