4. Setup

  1. Unfolding the Piano: Carefully unfold the piano until it locks into its full 88-key position. Ensure the hinge mechanism is securely engaged.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC 5V port on the piano and plug it into a wall outlet. Alternatively, the built-in battery allows for wireless operation.
  3. Sustain Pedal: Plug the sustain pedal into the designated pedal input jack.
  4. Music Holder: Insert the music holder into the slot on the top panel of the piano.
  5. Headphones (Optional): For private practice, connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphone jack.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Press and hold the Power button to turn the piano on or off.

5.2 Volume Control

  • Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons to adjust the master volume.

5.3 Tone Selection

  • Press the Tone button, then use the number keys or arrow buttons to select from 128 available tones.

5.4 Rhythm Selection

  • Press the Rhythm button, then use the number keys or arrow buttons to select from 128 available rhythms.

5.5 Demo Songs

  • Press the Demo button to cycle through the 20 built-in demo songs. Press again to stop playback.

5.6 Metronome

  • Press the Metronome button to activate the metronome. Use associated controls (if available) to adjust tempo and beat.

5.7 Record & Play

  • Press the Record button to begin recording your performance.
  • Press the Play button to listen to your recorded track.

6. MIDI and Bluetooth Connectivity

The FingerBallet BX20 offers versatile connectivity options for integration with other devices and software.

6.1 Bluetooth MIDI Connection

The piano can function as a wireless MIDI controller, allowing you to connect to music production software (DAW) or learning apps on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet) or computer.

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device or computer.
  2. Turn on the FingerBallet BX20. The Bluetooth indicator (if present) may flash.
  3. Open your desired music app or DAW. Look for MIDI device settings within the app.
  4. Select the FingerBallet BX20 from the list of available Bluetooth MIDI devices to establish a connection.

6.2 USB MIDI Connection

For a wired connection to a computer, use the provided USB cable.

  • Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the piano and the other end to your computer.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the piano. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild soap, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
