1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Hero Chute™ Heavy Duty 10ft Construction Chute Section. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective setup, operation, and maintenance of your construction chute. 2. Safety Instructions
Read all instructions carefully before use. Failure to follow these safety guidelines may result in injury or property damage.
- Secure Installation: Always ensure the chute sections are securely attached to each other and to the structure. Use all provided fasteners and additional anchoring as necessary to prevent dislodgement during use.
- Inspect Before Use: Before each use, inspect the chute for any signs of wear, tears, or damage. Do not use a damaged chute.
- Debris Type: The chute is designed for construction debris such as plaster, lath, drywall, wood, sheetrock, asphalt shingles, and non-metal or brick roofing materials. Avoid dropping excessively heavy, sharp, or corrosive materials that could damage the chute or pose a hazard.
- Weight Limits: Do not overload the chute. Distribute debris evenly and avoid dropping large, concentrated loads that could cause stress or rupture.
- Clear Drop Zone: Ensure the area below the chute's discharge point is clear of personnel, vehicles, and other obstructions. Use appropriate signage and barriers to restrict access to the drop zone.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy footwear, when working with the construction chute.
- Weather Conditions: Exercise caution when using the chute in windy conditions. High winds can cause the chute to sway or become unstable.
- Supervision: Never leave the chute unattended during operation.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in your package:

4. Setup Instructions
- Plan Placement: Determine the optimal location for the chute, ensuring a clear path from the debris source to the collection container (e.g., dumpster, truck).
- Secure Top Section: Attach the top section of the chute securely to the structure (e.g., window frame, roof edge, scaffolding). Ensure the attachment points are robust enough to support the weight of the chute and debris. Additional hardware (not included) may be required depending on your specific setup.
- Connect Additional Sections (if applicable): If using multiple sections, slide the lower end of the upper chute section into the upper end of the next lower section. Ensure a 1.5-foot overlap for a secure fit and to minimize dust escape. Use the provided heavy-duty zip ties to reliably fasten the sections together through the reinforced strapping loops.
- Install Hopper (Optional): For easier loading, a standard 32-gallon trash barrel can be used as a hopper at the top of the chute. Place the barrel into the chute opening.
- Verify Stability: Once all sections are connected and secured, gently tug on the chute to confirm its stability and ensure all connections are firm.

5. Operating Instructions
- Clear Drop Zone: Before beginning, ensure the area where debris will exit the chute is clear and safe.
- Load Debris: Carefully feed construction debris into the top opening of the chute. The chute has an assembled diameter of 22 inches.
- Suitable Materials: The chute is designed for materials such as plaster, lath, drywall, wood, sheetrock, asphalt shingles, and other construction trash. It can also handle non-metal or brick roofing materials.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not dump large, heavy objects simultaneously. Feed debris in manageable quantities to prevent blockages or damage to the chute.
- Monitor Flow: Observe the flow of debris through the chute to ensure there are no obstructions.

6. Maintenance and Storage
- Cleaning: After use, especially with wet or sticky debris, it is recommended to clean the interior and exterior of the chute. A simple rinse with water and mild detergent can help prolong its lifespan. Ensure it is thoroughly dried before storage.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the chute for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage to the material or reinforced strapping. Promptly repair minor damage or replace sections if significant wear is observed.
- Storage: The Hero Chute is designed for multiple projects and easy storage. Fold or roll the chute sections neatly. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and harsh chemicals to prevent material degradation.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter during the use of your Hero Chute.
- Debris Blockage:
- Cause: Too much debris loaded at once, or large, irregularly shaped items.
- Solution: Stop loading debris. Carefully attempt to dislodge the blockage from the top or bottom, ensuring safety precautions are in place. Avoid using sharp objects that could damage the chute. Load debris in smaller, more manageable quantities.
- Chute Swaying/Instability:
- Cause: Insufficient anchoring, strong winds, or improper connection of sections.
- Solution: Re-evaluate and reinforce anchoring points. Ensure all zip ties are securely fastened between sections. Consider additional bracing in windy conditions.
- Tears or Punctures:
- Cause: Dropping excessively sharp objects, abrasive materials, or prolonged heavy use.
- Solution: Minor tears can sometimes be patched with heavy-duty repair tape. For significant damage, replace the affected chute section to maintain safety and efficiency.
