Setup

Before first use, wash all removable parts of the moka pot with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.

  1. Fill the Lower Pot: Unscrew the upper and lower parts of the moka pot. Fill the lower pot with cold or warm water. Ensure the water level does not exceed the safety valve position.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Insert the filter funnel into the lower pot. Add finely ground coffee powder into the funnel. Gently tap it flat; do not press too hard or compact the coffee.
  3. Check Seals: Verify that all accessories, such as the silicone rings, are correctly installed and seated.
  4. Assemble Moka Pot: Screw the upper and lower pots together tightly to prevent air leaks during operation.
  5. Position on Hot Plate: Place the assembled moka pot onto the electric hot plate.
  6. Connect Power: Plug the electric hot plate into a suitable 220-240V, 50/60Hz power outlet.

Operating Instructions

Once the moka pot is prepared and placed on the hot plate:

  1. Turn On: Switch on the electric hot plate using the power switch. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Adjust Temperature: Use the knob at the bottom of the hot plate to select your desired heating temperature. There are five temperature settings, with a maximum of 200 ℃ (392 °F). Adjusting the temperature allows for different coffee brewing profiles.
  3. Brewing Process: The water in the lower chamber will heat up and create steam, forcing water through the coffee grounds and into the upper chamber. Observe the brewing process.
  4. Serve: Once the coffee has finished brewing (indicated by a gurgling sound and coffee filling the upper chamber), switch off the electric hot plate and unplug it. Carefully remove the moka pot using the anti-scald handle and pour the freshly brewed coffee.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper care will extend the life of your espresso machine.

  • Cleaning the Moka Pot: After each use, allow the moka pot to cool completely. Disassemble all parts (upper pot, lower pot, filter funnel, silicone gasket, filter plate). Wash all parts with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers, as they can damage the aluminum finish.
  • Cleaning the Electric Hot Plate: Ensure the hot plate is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the hot plate in water.
  • Drying and Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and storing. Store the appliance in a dry place.
  • Durability: The moka pot is constructed from high-quality aluminum alloy, designed to resist wear, corrosion, heat, impact, and deformation, ensuring long-term reusability.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your espresso machine, consider the following common solutions:

  • Coffee not brewing or slow brewing:
    • Ensure the moka pot is tightly screwed together to prevent air leaks.
    • Check that the water level is sufficient and below the safety valve.
    • Verify that the coffee grounds are not too finely ground or overly compacted, which can obstruct water flow.
    • Ensure the electric hot plate is powered on and set to an appropriate temperature.
  • Water leaking from the moka pot:
    • Confirm that the upper and lower pots are screwed together securely.
    • Check the silicone gasket and filter plate for proper placement and any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
  • Hot plate not heating:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check if the power switch on the hot plate is in the "ON" position.
    • Verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
