2. Setup and First Use

2.1 Unboxing and Components

2.2 Device Layout and Ports

Familiarize yourself with the physical layout of the NT530 unit:

2.3 Initial Software Update

It is highly recommended to update the device software before first use to ensure you have the latest vehicle coverage and features. Updates are free for life.

  1. Visit the official Foxwell website.
  2. Download and install the update client software on your Windows PC.
  3. Connect the NT530 unit to your PC using the provided USB Mini Cable.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions in the update client to register your device and download the latest software for GM/Chevrolet.
  5. Safely disconnect the device once the update is complete.

2.4 Connecting to Vehicle

To begin diagnostics, connect the NT530 to your vehicle:

  1. Locate the vehicle's 16-pin OBDII diagnostic port, usually under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  2. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is in the OFF position.
  3. Connect the diagnostic cable to the NT530's diagnostic port.
  4. Connect the other end of the diagnostic cable to the vehicle's OBDII port.
  5. Turn the vehicle's ignition to the ON position (engine off). The NT530 will power on automatically.

3. Operating the Diagnostic Tool

3.1 Main Menu Navigation

After powering on, the main menu will display several options:
