2. Product Overview

The FNRIDS EV Charging Cable is designed for efficient and reliable charging of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids with Type 2 and CCS2 charging inlets. It supports up to 7.2kW charging speed.

Before connecting the charging cable, ensure both your vehicle and the charging station are powered off or in a safe state for connection.

  1. Inspect the Cable: Before each use, visually inspect the charging cable and connectors for any signs of damage, wear, or foreign objects. Do not use if damaged.
  2. Connect to Charging Station: Insert one end of the Type 2 connector into the compatible charging port of the EV charging station. Ensure it is fully seated and locked.
  3. Connect to Vehicle: Open your vehicle's charging port cover. Insert the other Type 2 connector into your vehicle's charging inlet. Ensure it is fully seated and locked.
  4. Verify Connection: Confirm that both ends of the cable are securely connected. The charging station and/or vehicle should indicate a successful connection.

Important: Always connect to the charging station first, then to the vehicle. When disconnecting, always disconnect from the vehicle first, then from the charging station.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the cable is securely connected, the charging process can begin.

  1. Initiate Charging: Follow the instructions on your EV charging station or vehicle to start the charging session. This may involve activating the station via an app, RFID card, or on-screen prompts.
  2. Monitor Indicators: The control box on the cable features indicator lights for Power, Charge, and Fault.
    • Power: Indicates the unit is receiving power.
    • Charge: Illuminates when charging is active.
    • Fault: Indicates an error or malfunction. Refer to the Troubleshooting section if this light appears.
  3. Charging Completion: The charging session will typically end automatically when the vehicle battery is full or when manually stopped via the charging station or vehicle controls.
  4. Disconnecting:
    • Stop the charging session via your vehicle or charging station.
    • Unlock the vehicle's charging port (if applicable).
    • Disconnect the Type 2 connector from your vehicle first.
    • Disconnect the Type 2 connector from the charging station.
    • Replace protective caps on connectors to prevent dust and moisture ingress.
