Model: T4B FAT

1. Introduction

Welcome to the T4B FAT Folding Electric Bike user manual. This guide provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and care of your new electric bicycle. The T4B FAT is a high-performance folding fat e-bike, designed and engineered in Canada, ideal for city commuting and versatile use.

Key features include a powerful 350W Bafang motor, a removable Samsung Lithium Ion 36V13Ah battery, smart pedal assist, and a thumb throttle. Its foldable design allows for easy transport and storage, while the step-thru frame ensures convenient mounting.

2. Setup and Initial Preparation

2.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the bike for any signs of damage during transit. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.

2.2 Initial Battery Charge

Before the first ride, fully charge the Samsung Lithium Ion battery. The battery can be charged while installed on the bike or removed. Connect the charger to a standard household outlet and then to the battery charging port. The charging indicator will show when the battery is fully charged.

2.3 Assembly

Your T4B FAT bike comes mostly pre-assembled. You will need to:

  1. Install the handlebars: Secure the handlebar stem in place.
  2. Attach the pedals: Note that pedals are typically marked 'L' for left and 'R' for right. Thread them carefully to avoid cross-threading.
  3. Adjust the seat height: Ensure the seat post is inserted past the minimum insertion line and secured with the quick-release lever.

3.2 Riding Modes

  • Pedal Assist System (PAS): The bike provides electric assistance as you pedal. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the display to adjust the level of assistance (typically 0-5 levels).
  • Thumb Throttle: For immediate power without pedaling, engage the thumb throttle. This is useful for quick starts or maintaining speed without effort.
  • Manual Pedaling: The bike can be ridden like a traditional bicycle without any electric assistance.

3.3 Folding Mechanism

The T4B FAT is designed for convenient folding. Follow these steps:

  1. Lower the seat post completely.
  2. Fold the handlebars down using the quick-release lever on the stem.
  3. Fold the main frame using the quick-release lever located in the middle of the frame.
  4. Fold the pedals inward if they are folding type.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Care

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

4.2 Cleaning

Clean the bike with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using high-pressure water jets directly on electrical components or bearings.

4.3 Tire Pressure

Regularly check the tire pressure of your 20"x4" fat tires. Maintain pressure within the recommended range indicated on the tire sidewall for optimal performance and safety.

4.4 Brakes

The bike is equipped with disc brakes. Periodically check the brake pads for wear and ensure the brake levers provide firm and responsive braking. Adjust or replace components as necessary.

4.5 General Checks

Before each ride, perform a quick check:

  • Ensure all bolts and quick-release levers are securely tightened.
  • Check the chain for proper tension and lubrication.
  • Verify that the headlight and taillight are functioning correctly.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your T4B FAT electric bike, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check if the battery is fully charged and properly seated. Ensure all electrical connections are secure.
  • Motor Not Engaging: Verify that the pedal assist level is set above zero. Check if the brake levers are fully released, as some systems have a cut-off switch.
  • Unusual Noises: Inspect the chain, gears, and wheels for any obstructions or loose components.
