Operating Instructions
The ThtRht Dual USB 2.0 Back Panel Extension Cable operates on a plug-and-play basis. Once installed, the two USB 2.0 ports on the rear baffle will function as standard USB 2.0 ports, allowing you to connect various USB devices such as keyboards, mice, printers, and external storage drives.
Important Note: This extension cable extends the functionality of your motherboard's existing USB 2.0 pins. If your motherboard's internal USB header is USB 1.1, the extended ports will also operate at USB 1.1 speeds. This product does not convert USB 1.1 to USB 2.0.
Maintenance
The ThtRht USB 2.0 Back Panel Extension Cable requires minimal maintenance.
- Keep the ports free from dust and debris. Use compressed air to clean the ports if necessary.
- Ensure the cable connections remain secure inside the PC case.
- Avoid excessive bending or pulling of the cable to prevent damage to the internal wiring.
Troubleshooting
- Ports not recognized:
- Ensure the 9-pin connector is fully and correctly seated on the motherboard header.
- Verify that the motherboard's USB 2.0 header is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually enabled by default).
- Try connecting the cable to a different 9-pin USB 2.0 header on the motherboard, if available.
- Check device manager in your operating system for any unrecognized USB devices or driver issues.
- Devices connected to ports are slow:
- Confirm that your motherboard's internal USB header is indeed a USB 2.0 header. If it is a USB 1.1 header, the ports will operate at USB 1.1 speeds.
- Ensure the connected device is functioning correctly.
- Physical damage to cable or connector:
- Inspect the cable and connectors for any visible signs of damage, such as frayed wires or bent pins. If damaged, replace the product.
