1. Introduction

The KINGBOLEN K7 is a professional automotive diagnostic scan tool designed for comprehensive vehicle analysis and maintenance. It features wireless Bluetooth connectivity, bidirectional control capabilities, advanced ECU coding, and over 31 reset functions. 3. Setup Guide

3.1 Initial Device Registration

To activate your KINGBOLEN K7, follow these registration steps:

1. Enter a User Name: Choose a user name between 4 and 20 letters.
2. Enter an Email Address: Provide a valid email address where you can receive a verification code.
3. Get Verification Code: Click the "Verification Code" button and enter the code sent to your email.
4. Set Password: Create a secure password.
5. Register: Click the "Register" button in the upper right corner.
6. Activate Device: Enter the device's SN (Serial Number) and Activation Code, found in the attached booklet. Click "Activate".

Note: Ensure a stable internet connection during registration. Check your spam folder if the verification code email is not received.

3.2 Connecting to Vehicle (Bluetooth)

The K7 utilizes a Bluetooth VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) for wireless diagnosis, allowing flexibility during operation.

• Plug the Bluetooth VCI into the vehicle's OBD2 port.
• Ensure the K7 tablet's Bluetooth is enabled.
• On the K7 interface, select the diagnostic function, and the device will automatically attempt to connect to the VCI.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Full Systems Diagnostic

The K7 can perform a comprehensive scan of all available electronic control units (ECUs) in a vehicle, including Engine, ABS, SRS, Transmission, Chassis, EPB, TPMS, A/C system, and more.

• Auto VIN: Automatically identifies vehicle information for quick diagnosis.
• Read/Clear Codes: Retrieves and erases Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
• Live Data Stream: Displays real-time data parameters from various sensors and components. Supports 4-in-1 data stream graphics for intuitive viewing.
• Freeze Frame: Captures a snapshot of vehicle conditions at the moment a fault code is set.
• Read ECU Info: Provides detailed information about the control module.
• Health Report Share: Generate and share detailed diagnostic reports via Bluetooth or email.

4.2 Bi-Directional Control (Active Test)

This function allows the K7 to send commands to vehicle ECUs to activate specific components or systems, enabling efficient troubleshooting and component testing.

• Examples: Activating fuel pump, cycling A/C clutch, testing windows/mirrors/doors, injector tests, turning wipers on/off, lamp signal on/off, EVAP tests.

4.3 ECU Coding

ECU Coding allows for customization, optimization of vehicle performance, and matching of replaced components with the ECU.

• Online Coding: Sends coding values directly from the server for faster and more accurate results (e.g., for VW/Audi/BMW/Porsche).
• Offline Coding: Unlocks hidden functions, customizes vehicle settings, and performs variant coding (e.g., for Benz).

4.5 Vehicle Coverage and FCA AutoAuth

The KINGBOLEN K7 supports over 100 car brands and 10,000+ car models worldwide from 1996 onwards. It also includes support for FCA AutoAuth, allowing access to protected SGW (Security Gateway) modules on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat vehicles.

Note on FCA AutoAuth: The K7 provides the AutoAuth login portal. Users need to purchase a registration number on the AutoAuth website independently. When performing FCA login, select "THINKCAR" under "Pick the Type of Tool" and then "THINKTOOL Others".

4.6 DTC Look Up and Google Code Search

The K7 includes a built-in Fault Code Library and a browser for direct Google Code Search, allowing users to quickly query and understand diagnostic trouble codes during diagnosis.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Software Updates

The KINGBOLEN K7 comes with 3 years of free software upgrades. Updates can be performed via a one-click Wi-Fi update feature, ensuring your device always has the latest vehicle data and functions.

• Connect the K7 to a stable Wi-Fi network.
• Navigate to the "Update" section on the device's main menu.
• Select and download available software updates.

After the 3-year free update period, the device will continue to function with the last updated software version, but online functions requiring server access may no longer be available.
