4. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to install your Cawhum R9 WiFi Video Doorbell:

  1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has a peephole with a diameter between 16mm and 35mm. If not, a peephole of the appropriate diameter must be made.
  2. Install Outdoor Unit: Insert the outdoor camera unit through the peephole from the outside of the door. Ensure the camera is oriented correctly (doorbell button facing down).
  3. Attach Hanging Board: From the inside of the door, thread the ribbon cable from the outdoor unit through the hanging board. Secure the hanging board to the door using the provided screws.
  4. Connect Indoor Unit: Connect the ribbon cable from the outdoor unit to the designated port on the back of the indoor monitor unit.
  5. Mount Indoor Unit: Align the indoor unit with the hanging board and slide it down to secure it in place.

5. Smart Life App Setup

The Cawhum R9 Video Doorbell is compatible with the Smart Life app for remote monitoring and control. Follow these general steps to connect your device:

  1. Download App: Download the 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register/Login: Create an account or log in to your existing Smart Life account.
  3. Add Device: In the app, tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon. Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' and then 'Smart Doorbell' or 'Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)'.
  4. Power On Device: Ensure your doorbell is powered on and the indicator light is flashing rapidly.
