3. Setup Instructions
There are two primary methods to set up your USHNIH WiFi Extender: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) and Web UI (Web User Interface).
3.1. WPS Setup (Recommended for quick setup)
- Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the Power Indicator to light up.
- Press the WPS button on your WiFi Extender. The WPS indicator will start blinking.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your main wireless router.
- Wait for the WPS indicator on the extender to become solid, indicating a successful connection.
- Unplug the extender and relocate it to a desired location between your router and the WiFi dead zone. Ensure the Wireless Indicator is solid for optimal signal.
3.2. Web UI Setup (For advanced configuration or if WPS fails)
- Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet.
- Connect your computer or smartphone to the extender's default WiFi network (e.g., "WiFi-Repeater-xxxx"). No password is required initially.
- Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (usually http://192.168.11.1) or the provided domain name from the manual.
- Log in using the default username and password (typically "admin" for both).
- Follow the on-screen wizard to select "Repeater Mode" or "AP Mode" (see Section 4).
- Select your target WiFi network (SSID) from the list and enter its password. If your network is hidden, you may need to add it manually.
- Confirm settings and click "Finish" to complete the configuration. The extender will restart.
- Reconnect your devices to the new extended WiFi network (e.g., "YourNetworkName_EXT").

4. Operating Modes
The USHNIH WiFi Extender supports two main operating modes:
4.1. Repeater Mode
In Repeater Mode, the device extends the coverage of your existing wireless network. It receives the WiFi signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, effectively expanding the range. This is ideal for eliminating WiFi dead zones.
4.2. Access Point (AP) Mode
In AP Mode, the device transforms a wired internet connection into a wireless hotspot. Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or router to the extender's LAN port, and the extender will create a new WiFi network. This is useful for adding wireless capability to a wired network.

5. Placement Guidelines
Optimal placement of your WiFi Extender is crucial for maximizing signal coverage and performance.

Figure 5: Correct and incorrect placement for WiFi signal extension.
- Optimal Placement: Place the extender halfway between your main router and the area with weak WiFi signal. Ensure the Wireless Indicator is solid green.
- Avoid: Placing the extender too close to the router (it won't extend effectively) or too far from the router (it won't receive a strong enough signal to re-broadcast).
- Obstacles: Walls, large metal objects, and other electronic devices can interfere with the signal. Try to minimize these obstacles between the extender and your devices.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Resetting the Device
If you encounter persistent issues or wish to reconfigure your extender from scratch, you can perform a factory reset:
- With the extender powered on, locate the Reset button (a small pinhole) on the side of the device.
- Use a paperclip or a similar pointed object to press and hold the Reset button for approximately 10 seconds.
- Release the button when the indicators flash. The extender will restart with factory default settings. You will then need to reconfigure it using either WPS or Web UI setup methods.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Internet Access after Setup:
- Ensure the extender is placed within the range of your main router.
- Verify that the password entered during setup for your main WiFi network is correct.
- Try restarting both your main router and the WiFi extender.
- Perform a factory reset on the extender and try the setup process again.
- Weak Signal from Extender:
- Relocate the extender to a different spot, ensuring it's not too far from the main router.
- Minimize physical obstructions like thick walls or large appliances.
- Cannot Access Web UI:
- Ensure your device is connected to the extender's default WiFi network.
- Double-check the IP address or domain name entered in the browser.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try a different browser.
