This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your wave maker.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before use to prevent injury or damage.

  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance, installation, or removal of the wave maker.
  • This product is designed for indoor aquarium use only. Do not use it for purposes other than its intended use.
  • Ensure your hands are dry before handling the power adapter or plugging/unplugging the unit.
  • Do not operate the wave maker if the power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Keep the controller dry and away from water splashes.
  • Ensure the wave maker is fully submerged in water during operation to prevent overheating.

  • Wi-Le/NIGHT Button: Short press to select master, slave, or independent control. Long press to enter Night Mode.
  • MODE/FREQ Button: Short press to select wave mode. Long press to display frequency, then adjust with "+" / "-" buttons.
  • OFF/FEED Button: Short press to turn the pump on/off. Long press to enter Feeding Mode.
  • Speed Adjust Buttons (+/-): Adjust flow rate and frequency.
  • Lock Mode: Press and hold "+" and "-" simultaneously until the lock indicator appears. Repeat to unlock.

4. Setup

4.1 Installation

  1. Ensure your aquarium glass is clean and free of algae or debris where the wave maker will be installed.
  2. Attach the wave maker unit to the inside of the aquarium glass using its magnetic base. Position the external magnet on the outside of the glass, aligning it with the internal unit. The strong magnetic base allows for easy and secure positioning.
  3. The wave maker is suitable for tank thickness up to 0.39 inches (10mm) for the 18W model.
  4. Connect the wave maker pump unit to the controller, and then connect the controller to the power adapter.
  5. Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.

4.2 Recommended Placement

  • Upper Side: Installed near the water surface, it creates visible wave shapes, mimicking surface agitation.
  • Middle: Placed in the middle of the tank, it generates a continuous stream of small bubbles, simulating ocean currents and exercising fish.
  • Bottom: Positioned near the substrate, it helps blow away debris and accumulated waste, contributing to a cleaner tank and improved water quality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wave Modes

The hygger wave maker offers 5 distinct wave modes to simulate various natural water flows. Use the MODE/FREQ button to cycle through them.

  1. M1: Classic Wave Plush Mode (Pulse Wave): Creates intermittent pulses of flow.
  2. M2: Sine Wave Mode: Generates a smooth, oscillating flow.
  3. M3: Constant Wave Mode: Provides a steady, continuous flow.
  4. M4: Random Wave Mode: Produces unpredictable, varying flow patterns.
  5. M5: Classic Wave Cross-Flow Mode: Utilizes the unique cross-flow technology for broad, gentle water movement.

5.2 Adjusting Flow Rate and Frequency

After selecting a wave mode, use the + and - buttons to adjust the flow rate (30-100 levels) and frequency (30-100 levels) to suit your aquarium's needs.

5.3 Feeding Mode

Long press the OFF/FEED button to activate Feeding Mode. The pump will temporarily stop for 10 minutes, allowing your fish to feed without being disturbed by the current. The pump will automatically resume operation after 10 minutes.

5.4 Night Mode

Long press the Wi-Le/NIGHT button to enter Night Mode. The built-in light sensor will detect ambient light levels. When the controller is in darkness, the pump speed will automatically slow down to provide a calmer environment for nocturnal aquatic life.

5.5 Linkage Mode (Master/Slave Control)

This feature allows multiple hygger wave makers to operate in sync. Short press the Wi-Le/NIGHT button to select Master, Slave, or Independent control. In Master mode, one controller can manage all functions of linked slave units.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your hygger wave maker.

  • Monthly Cleaning: Disconnect the power. Remove the wave maker from the tank. Disassemble the unit carefully according to the diagrams (refer to product packaging or online resources for detailed disassembly steps). Clean the impeller and internal components to remove any accumulated algae, debris, or small substrate particles. A soft brush and clean water are recommended.
  • Impeller Check: Periodically inspect the impeller for any signs of wear or damage. A worn impeller can lead to increased noise or reduced performance.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly check the power cord and connections for any signs of damage or fraying.
  • Controller Care: Keep the controller dry and clean. Avoid exposing it to direct water splashes.

7. Troubleshooting
