Cuff Selection and Placement

Selecting the correct cuff size is crucial for accurate readings. The monitor comes with three different cuff sizes to accommodate various arm circumferences:

  • Small Cuff: 7"-9" (17-22 cm)
  • Medium/Large Cuff: 9"-17" (22-43 cm)
  • Extra Large Cuff: 13"-21" (33-53 cm)

Using a cuff that is too small can result in falsely high readings, while a cuff that is too large can lead to falsely low readings. Measure your upper arm circumference to choose the most appropriate cuff.

To place the cuff correctly:

  1. Ensure the cuff fits snugly but not too tightly around your upper arm, approximately 2-3 cm above the elbow joint.
  2. Position the air tube to run down the center of your arm, aligning the brachial artery marker (if present on the cuff) over your artery.
  3. Rest your arm on a flat surface with your palm facing upwards, ensuring the cuff is at heart level.
