Setup and Initial Use

Unpacking and Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the "What's Included" section are present. Refer to the 'What's in the Box' image below for a visual guide.

Filling the Clean Solution Tank

The Shark HydroVac utilizes a two-tank system to keep clean and dirty water separate, ensuring you always clean with fresh solution.

  1. Locate the Clean Solution Tank on the unit.
  2. Press the release button to remove the tank.
  3. Open the tank cap and fill with water up to the designated "WATER" line.
  4. Add Shark HydroVac Concentrate up to the "CONCENTRATE" line, or Shark HydroVac Disinfectant up to the "DISINFECTANT" line (do not dilute disinfectant).
  5. Securely close the tank cap and reinsert the tank into the unit until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

Hard Floor Cleaning

Ensure the clean solution tank is filled. Plug the unit into a power outlet.

  1. Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
  2. Select the "Hard Floor" mode using the LED display.
  3. Tilt the unit back to engage the brushroll and begin cleaning. Move the unit slowly forward and backward over the desired area.

Area Rug Cleaning

The HydroVac can also refresh area rugs.

  1. Place the unit on the area rug.
  2. Press the Power button.
  3. Select the "Area Rug" mode on the LED display.
  4. Move the unit slowly over the rug, ensuring not to oversaturate the fibers.

Maintenance and Care

Self-Clean Cycle

After every use, perform a self-clean cycle to maintain the unit's performance and hygiene.

  1. Place the Shark HydroVac on its storage tray.
  2. Ensure the clean solution tank has enough liquid for the cycle.
  3. Press the Self-Clean button (indicated by a circular arrow icon) on the unit's display. The cycle will run automatically, cleaning the brushroll.

Emptying the Dirty Water Tank

The dirty water tank should be emptied after each use.

  1. Press the release button to remove the dirty water tank.
  2. Carefully detach the debris filter and dispose of any solid debris.
  3. Pour out the dirty water.
  4. Rinse the tank and filter with clean water.
  5. Reassemble the tank and reinsert it into the unit.

Cleaning the Brushroll and Filter

Periodically, the brushroll and foam filter may need manual cleaning.

  1. To access the brushroll, open the brushroll cover.
  2. Remove the brushroll and rinse it under running water. Remove any tangled hair or debris.
  3. Remove the foam filter from the dirty water tank and rinse it thoroughly.
  4. Allow both the brushroll and filter to air dry completely before reassembling.
