Product Components

Your Dexceder Self-Watering Planter includes the following parts:

  • Outer Pot
  • Inner Pot
  • Water Level Indicator
  • Instruction Manual

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Dexceder Self-Watering Planter:

  1. Assemble Water Level Indicator: Connect the components of the water level indicator as shown in the diagram.
  2. Prepare Inner Pot: Place a layer of stone or clay at the bottom of the inner pot to aid in drainage and aeration.
  3. Add Soil: Fill the inner pot with nutritive soil suitable for your plant.
  4. Plant Placement: Carefully place your plant into the inner pot, ensuring its roots are properly positioned. Fill any remaining space with additional nutritive soil.
  5. Initial Watering: For the first three months after planting, water your plant from the top, directly onto the soil, as you would with a conventional pot. This allows the roots to establish and grow towards the water reservoir.
  6. Insert Water Level Indicator: Place the assembled water level indicator into its designated slot in the inner pot.
  7. Drainage Plug: For indoor use, ensure the drainage plug at the bottom of the outer pot is securely tightened. For outdoor use, remove the drainage plug to allow excess water to drain during heavy rainfall, preventing overwatering.

Operating Instructions

The Dexceder Self-Watering Planter utilizes a sub-irrigation system to provide consistent moisture to your plants.

Self-Watering System

After the initial 3-month establishment period, you can begin using the self-watering feature. Water is stored in a reservoir at the bottom of the outer pot. The plant's roots will draw water as needed, promoting healthy growth and preventing root rot. This system can supply water for over 3 weeks, depending on the plant's needs and environmental conditions.

Using the Water Level Indicator

The integrated water level indicator shows you when to refill the reservoir. Simply pour water into the designated opening until the indicator reaches the 'Max' line. When the indicator drops to the 'Min' line, it's time to add more water.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your planter:

  • Cleaning: The inner pot is removable, making it easy to clean and replace plants. Clean both the inner and outer pots periodically with mild soap and water.
  • Durability: The planter is made from durable, frost and UV resistant PP plastic with a high-gloss finish. It is designed to resist rusting, peeling, and denting, and its color will not fade in direct sunlight.
