5. Installation Guide

Warning: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and plumber. Ensure power is disconnected at the main circuit breaker before starting any installation work.

5.1 Choosing a Location

  • Select a wall-mounted location close to the point of use to minimize heat loss.
  • Ensure the wall surface is flat, solid, and capable of supporting the unit's weight when filled with water.
  • The location must be protected from freezing temperatures.
  • Maintain adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and future maintenance.

5.2 Mounting the Unit

  1. Mark the drilling points on the wall using the unit or a template (if provided) as a guide.
  2. Drill holes at the marked positions.
  3. Insert the wall anchors into the drilled holes.
  4. Secure the mounting bracket (if separate) or the unit directly to the wall using the provided screws. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.

5.3 Water Connections

  1. Identify the water inlet (cold water) and outlet (hot water) ports on the unit. These are typically marked with blue and red, respectively.
  2. Connect the cold water supply line to the inlet port.
  3. Connect the hot water outlet line to your faucet or shower system.
  4. Ensure all connections are tightened securely to prevent leaks. Use appropriate sealing tape or compound.
  5. Open the cold water supply valve and allow water to flow through the unit and out of the hot water tap until all air is purged from the system. Check for any leaks.

5.4 Electrical Connection

  1. This step must be performed by a qualified electrician.
  2. Connect the unit to a dedicated electrical circuit with the correct voltage and amperage rating.
  3. Ensure proper grounding according to local electrical codes.
  4. Verify all electrical connections are secure and insulated.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed and all connections are verified, you can begin operating your instant electric water heater.

6.1 Powering On/Off

  • Ensure the water supply is open and the unit is filled with water.
  • Turn on the electrical power to the unit at the circuit breaker.
  • Press the power button on the unit's front panel to turn it on. The LCD display will illuminate, showing the current water temperature.
  • To turn off, press the power button again.

6.2 Adjusting Temperature

  • Use the temperature adjustment buttons (typically '+' and '-' or similar symbols) on the front panel to set your desired hot water temperature.
  • The LCD display will show the set temperature and then revert to displaying the real-time output temperature.
  • The unit will automatically heat the water to the set temperature as it flows through.

6.3 Flow Regulation

  • Some models may feature a flow regulation knob or valve near the water inlet/outlet. This allows you to adjust the water flow rate.
  • Adjusting the flow rate can influence the output temperature, especially in areas with very cold incoming water. A lower flow rate generally results in hotter water.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your water heater.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Check for Leaks: Regularly inspect all water connections for any signs of leaks. Address any leaks immediately to prevent water damage.
  • Descaling: In areas with hard water, mineral deposits (scale) can build up inside the heating element, reducing efficiency. Consult a qualified technician for descaling procedures if necessary.
  • Filter Cleaning: If your unit includes an inlet filter, periodically clean it to ensure unrestricted water flow.
  • Winterization (if applicable): If the unit is in an area prone to freezing and will not be used for an extended period, drain the unit completely to prevent damage from freezing water.
