Wadoy W-12V diesel transfer pump (W-411)

Wadoy 12V 12GPM Fuel Transfer Pump Kit User Manual

Model: W-12V Diesel Transfer Pump (W-411)

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Wadoy 12V 12GPM Fuel Transfer Pump Kit. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new fuel transfer pump. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

This self-priming electric pump is designed for transferring low-viscosity liquids such as diesel, kerosene, transformer oil, and machine oil. It is not suitable for highly flammable liquids like gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, or alcohol.

2. Safety Instructions

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the equipment:

  • Do not use with gasoline or other highly flammable liquids. This pump is specifically designed for diesel, kerosene, and oils.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when operating the pump.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection.
  • Verify that the power source is 12V DC and correctly connected (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  • Do not operate the pump dry. Ensure the inlet hose is submerged in the liquid before starting.
  • Regularly inspect hoses, connections, and the pump for damage or leaks.
  • Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the operating area.
  • Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

5. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your fuel transfer pump kit:

  1. Attach Inlet Hose: Connect the longer, clear inlet hose (with the mesh filter) to the pump's inlet port. Secure it with a hose clamp. Ensure the mesh filter is properly attached to the end of the inlet hose to prevent debris from entering the pump.
  2. Attach Outlet Hose: Connect the shorter, clear outlet hose to the pump's outlet port. Secure it with a hose clamp.
  3. Attach Nozzle: Connect the fuel pump nozzle to the free end of the outlet hose. Secure it with a hose clamp. Use the provided sealing tape on threaded connections for a leak-proof seal.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the red alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal of a 12V DC battery and the black alligator clip to the negative (-) terminal. Ensure a secure connection.

6. Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure all connections are secure and the pump is placed on a stable surface or tied down using the base holes.

  1. Positioning: Place the pump unit near the source tank. Ensure the inlet hose can reach the bottom of the source tank and the outlet hose can reach the receiving tank.
  2. Submerge Inlet: Fully submerge the mesh filter end of the inlet hose into the liquid you wish to transfer.
  3. Insert Nozzle: Place the nozzle securely into the receiving tank's opening. The nozzle features a 3-gear padlock for continuous operation and an auto shut-off mechanism to prevent overfilling.
  4. Start Pump: Flip the waterproof switch on the pump to the "ON" position. The pump will begin transferring liquid.
  5. Monitor Transfer: Observe the transfer process. The pump is self-priming, meaning it will draw liquid without manual priming once started.
  6. Stop Pump: Once the transfer is complete or the receiving tank is full (auto shut-off will activate), flip the switch to the "OFF" position.
  7. Disconnect: Disconnect the battery clips from the power source. Remove the hoses from the tanks.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump:

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially when transferring different types of oil, run a small amount of clean, compatible liquid through the pump to flush out any residue.
  • Filter Inspection: Regularly check the mesh filter on the inlet hose for clogs or debris. Clean it as needed to maintain efficient flow and protect the pump.
  • Hose and Connection Check: Inspect hoses for cracks, kinks, or wear. Ensure all clamps and couplings are tight and free of leaks.
  • Storage: Store the pump and accessories in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Motor Care: The pump features a pure copper motor designed for durability. Avoid running the pump dry for extended periods, as this can cause damage.

8. Troubleshooting

Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not startNo power, loose battery connection, faulty switch.Check battery connections, ensure battery is charged, test the switch.
Low flow rate or no suctionClogged inlet filter, air leak in hoses/connections, pump running dry, liquid too viscous.Clean inlet filter, check all connections for tightness, ensure inlet hose is fully submerged, verify liquid compatibility.
Pump making unusual noiseAir in the system, debris in pump, worn components.Check for air leaks, clean filter, inspect for internal damage (if persistent, contact support).
Leaks from connectionsLoose clamps, damaged hoses, insufficient sealing tape.Tighten hose clamps, replace damaged hoses, reapply sealing tape.
