Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Beyution PH-20+L remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch to open it.
3. Insert two new AAA batteries, matching the (+) and (-) terminals as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

2. Initial Use and Compatibility

This remote is pre-programmed to work with many Philips LCD, LED, and Smart 3D TV models. In most cases, simply inserting the batteries will allow immediate control of your compatible Philips TV. If the remote does not function immediately, proceed to the Learning Function section.

Button Functions Overview:

• Power (⏻): Turns the TV on or off.

• CH- / CH+: Changes channels.
• Volume - / Volume +: Adjusts volume.

• Number Buttons (0-9): Direct channel input.
• Subtitle: Toggles subtitles.
• Text: Accesses teletext (if available).
• Color Buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue): For specific functions within menus or applications.

Learning Function

The PH-20+L remote includes a learning function, allowing it to mimic signals from your original remote control for specific buttons. This is useful if certain functions are not automatically compatible.

1. Enter Learning Mode: Press and hold the LEARN FUNCTION button (located on the back of the remote, near the battery compartment) until the indicator light (usually red) stays solid.
2. Select Button to Learn: On the Beyution remote, press the button you wish to program (e.g., a specific function button). The indicator light will blink slowly.
3. Transmit Signal: Point your original TV remote control directly at the Beyution remote (infrared sensors should be aligned, typically 1-3 cm apart) and press the corresponding button on the original remote.
4. Confirmation: If the learning is successful, the indicator light on the Beyution remote will flash rapidly three times and then stay solid.
5. Repeat or Exit: Repeat steps 2-4 for any other buttons you wish to program. To exit learning mode, press the LEARN FUNCTION button again, or wait for 10 seconds for it to automatically exit.

Note: Ensure both remotes have fresh batteries for optimal signal transmission during the learning process.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can damage the remote. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
  • Replace the batteries with new AAA batteries.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV's infrared sensor.
  • Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the TV.
• Certain buttons not working:
  • If the remote is pre-programmed, some advanced functions might not be supported by all TV models.
  • Utilize the learning function to program specific buttons from your original remote.
  • Clean the remote's surface, especially around the unresponsive buttons, to ensure no debris is interfering.
• Short operating range:
  • Replace batteries, as low battery power can reduce range.
  • Ensure no strong light sources (like direct sunlight or bright fluorescent lights) are interfering with the infrared signal.
• Learning function not working:
  • Ensure both remotes have fresh batteries.
  • Make sure the infrared sensors of both remotes are perfectly aligned and close (1-3 cm).
  • Press and hold the button on the original remote firmly and for a sufficient duration (1-2 seconds) during the learning process.
  • Some original remotes use different signal types (e.g., RF instead of IR) which cannot be learned by this universal remote.
