Westinghouse Instant Water Dispenser & iSpring RCC7AK RO System User Manual

Model: WH-1500 / RCC7AK

1. Product Overview

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Westinghouse Instant Water Dispenser and iSpring RCC7AK 6-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filter System. This combined system delivers both instant hot water and purified drinking water directly from your tap.

The Westinghouse Instant Water Dispenser provides hot water on demand, perfect for beverages and cooking. The iSpring RCC7AK system utilizes a multi-stage filtration process, including reverse osmosis, to remove up to 99% of over 1,000 contaminants, and an alkaline remineralization stage to restore beneficial minerals and balance pH.

4. Installation Guide

4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Ensure you have adequate space under your sink for both units and the RO tank.
  • Verify access to a cold water supply line and a grounded electrical outlet (for dispenser).
  • Confirm you have necessary tools (drill, wrench, screwdriver, etc.).

4.2 Westinghouse Dispenser Installation

  1. Mounting: Securely mount the Westinghouse dispenser unit under the sink using the provided brackets. Ensure it is level and stable.
  2. Faucet Installation: Install the chrome hot and cold faucet into a standard sink hole. Connect the hot and cold water lines from the dispenser unit to the corresponding inlets on the faucet.
  3. Water Connection: Connect the cold water supply line to the dispenser's inlet.
  4. Electrical Connection: Plug the dispenser into a grounded 120V AC outlet. Do not turn on power yet.

4.3 iSpring RCC7AK RO System Installation

  1. Faucet Installation: Install the dedicated iSpring RO faucet into a separate sink hole or an existing sprayer hole.
  2. Water Supply Connection: Connect the RO system to your cold water supply line using the provided adapter.
  3. Drain Saddle Installation: Install the drain saddle on the drain pipe to allow wastewater from the RO system to be discharged.
  4. RO Tank Connection: Connect the RO storage tank to the RO system. Ensure the tank valve is closed initially.
  5. Filter Installation: Insert the pre-filters (Sediment, GAC, CTO), RO membrane, post-carbon filter, and alkaline filter into their respective housings. Ensure correct orientation.
  6. Tubing Connections: Connect all tubing according to the iSpring manual (input, output, drain, tank, faucet).

4.4 Initial System Flush

After all connections are made and checked for leaks:

  1. For Dispenser: Turn on the cold water supply. Open the hot water faucet on the dispenser and allow water to flow until it runs smoothly, purging air from the tank. Then, turn on the dispenser's power.
  2. For RO System: Open the RO tank valve. Open the RO faucet and allow the tank to fill and then drain completely (this may take several hours for the first fill). Repeat this process 2-3 times to flush out carbon fines and sanitize the system.

5. Operation

5.1 Westinghouse Instant Water Dispenser

Once installed and powered on, the dispenser will begin heating water. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes for the initial heating cycle.

  • Temperature Control: The dispenser features a temperature control dial (WH-1500) allowing you to adjust the hot water temperature from approximately 140°F (60°C) to 200°F (93°C). Turn the dial to your desired setting.
  • Dispensing Hot Water: Push the hot water lever on the chrome faucet to dispense hot water. Release to stop.
  • Dispensing Chilled/Filtered Water: Push the cold water lever on the chrome faucet to dispense cold, filtered water (from the RO system, if connected to the dispenser's cold inlet).

5.2 iSpring RCC7AK RO System

The iSpring RO system operates automatically to fill its storage tank with purified water. When you open the dedicated RO faucet, water from the tank is dispensed.

  • Dispensing Purified Water: Lift the handle on the iSpring RO faucet to dispense purified water. Lower the handle to stop.
  • Tank Pressure: The RO tank maintains pressure to ensure a steady flow of water. Flow rate may decrease as the tank empties.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Westinghouse Dispenser Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the dispenser and faucet with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Descaling: Depending on your water hardness, mineral buildup (scale) may occur over time. Refer to the Westinghouse specific descaling instructions if you notice reduced hot water flow or efficiency. Generally, this involves flushing the tank with a mild descaling solution.

6.2 iSpring RCC7AK RO System Filter Replacement

Regular filter replacement is crucial for optimal performance and water quality. Filter life varies based on water quality and usage.

Filter StageDescriptionRecommended Replacement
Stage 1: PP SedimentRemoves dirt, sand, rust, and other large particles.Every 3-6 months
Stage 2: GAC CarbonRemoves chlorine, taste, odor, and organic chemicals.Every 6-12 months
Stage 3: CTO Carbon BlockFurther removes chlorine, taste, odor, and fine sediments.Every 6-12 months
Stage 4: RO MembraneRemoves up to 99% of dissolved solids, heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses.Every 2-3 years
Stage 5: Post CarbonPolishes water for improved taste.Every 12 months
Stage 6: Alkaline RemineralizationRestores beneficial minerals and balances pH.Every 12 months

Filter Replacement Procedure:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the RO system and close the RO tank valve.
  2. Open the RO faucet to relieve pressure.
  3. Use the filter wrench to unscrew the filter housings.
  4. Remove old filters and dispose of them.
  5. Clean the filter housings.
  6. Insert new filters, ensuring proper orientation.
  7. Screw housings back on, hand-tighten, then use wrench for a quarter turn.
  8. Slowly turn on the water supply and open the RO tank valve. Check for leaks.
  9. Flush the system as per initial setup instructions to remove air and carbon fines.
