Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

The Fitcamx Dash Cam is designed for automatic operation. It will automatically turn on and off with your vehicle's engine. There is no manual power button to press each time you start or stop your car.

WiFi & APP Control

The dash cam features built-in WiFi for seamless control and video management via the Fitcamx mobile application.

  1. Download the App: Search for "Fitcamx" in your smartphone's App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and install it.
  2. Connect to WiFi:
    • Ensure your vehicle's engine is running, and the dash cam is powered on.
    • Go to your phone's WiFi settings.
    • Find the WiFi network named "Fitcamx_XXXX" (XXXX will be unique to your device) and connect to it. The default password is "12345678".
  3. Access the App: Open the Fitcamx app. You can now view live footage, browse recorded videos, download important clips to your phone, and adjust settings.

Note: You do not need to keep your phone connected to the dash cam's WiFi constantly for recording. The camera records automatically when the car starts. WiFi connection is only needed for viewing, downloading, or changing settings.

Recording Features

  • Front 4K + Rear 1080P Resolution: The dash cam records simultaneously from the front camera at 2160P (4K) and the rear camera at 1080P, providing clear and detailed video evidence. The wide 170° (front) + 140° (rear) viewing angles minimize blind spots.
  • Loop Recording: When the MicroSD card memory is full, the dash cam automatically overwrites the oldest unlocked footage with new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
  • G-Sensor (Gravity Sensor): The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. In such an event, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a separate "event" folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. The sensitivity of the G-Sensor can typically be adjusted via the Fitcamx app.

Maintenance

  • MicroSD Card Management:
    • The included 128GB MicroSD card is pre-formatted for optimal performance.
    • Periodically back up important videos to your phone or computer.
    • To maintain card health and prevent errors, it is recommended to format the MicroSD card within the app every 2-4 weeks. This will erase all unlocked footage.
    • If replacing the MicroSD card, use a high-endurance Class 10 (U3) card from a reputable brand, up to the maximum supported capacity (check product specifications for details).
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the lens and the body of the dash cam. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Fitcamx Dash Cam, please refer to the following common solutions:

ProblemSolution
Dash cam does not turn on automatically.Ensure the vehicle engine is started. Check all cable connections, especially the Y-cable, to ensure they are secure. If the issue persists, contact Fitcamx support.
Cannot connect to dash cam WiFi.Ensure the car engine is running and the dash cam is powered on. Verify you are selecting the correct WiFi network ("Fitcamx_XXXX"). Double-check the password ("12345678"). If issues persist, try restarting your phone and the vehicle.
Dash cam feels hot during operation. It is normal for the dash cam to generate heat during operation, especially when exposed to direct sunlight or in high ambient temperatures. The Fitcamx camera is designed to operate normally within -20°C to 85°C (-4°F to 185°F). If it becomes excessively hot or malfunctions, discontinue use and contact support.
No parking monitoring function. The availability of parking monitoring depends on whether your car's power plug provides continuous electricity when the engine is off. This is determined by the car manufacturer. To upgrade to a parking mode function that records in case of serious collision, an extra hardwire kit is required (sold separately). Contact Fitcamx for details on compatible hardwire kits.
Cannot add a rear camera to a front-only version.Front-only and dual recording versions have different internal PCB boards. It is not possible to add a rear camera to a front-only unit. If you require dual recording, you would need to purchase a complete dual recording set.
Video not saving or MicroSD card full.Ensure the MicroSD card is properly inserted. The dash cam uses loop recording, automatically overwriting the oldest unlocked files. If the card is full of locked files (due to G-Sensor events), you may need to manually delete them or format the card via the app (this will delete all unlocked files).
