1. Product Overview

The INFURIDER YF-189A is a high-precision digital differential pressure gauge designed for measuring positive, negative, and differential pressure. It features a large LCD screen with backlight for clear readings in various lighting conditions. This device is suitable for a wide range of applications including HVAC systems, air conditioning, ventilation, gas measurement, and laboratory research.

2. Package Contents

Before using the device, please verify that all items listed below are present and in good condition.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use the provided small screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

3.2 Connecting Hoses

  1. Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) pressure ports at the top of the device.
  2. Connect the soft hoses (1/8 inch / 3.18 mm quick connectors) to the desired ports based on your measurement requirements.
  3. Ensure the connections are secure to prevent leaks.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the ON/OFF button to turn the device on.
  • To turn off, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off.
  • The device will automatically shut down after approximately 25 minutes of inactivity.

4.2 Unit Selection

  • Press the UNIT button to cycle through the 11 available pressure units (mmHg, inHg, ftH₂O, cmH₂O, inH₂O, KPa, mbar, bar, psi, Kgcm², ozin²).
  • Select the appropriate unit for your measurement.

4.3 Backlight Function

  • Press the Backlight button (light bulb icon) to turn the LCD backlight on or off. This improves visibility in low-light conditions.

4.4 Data Hold Function

  • During measurement, press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display.
  • Press HOLD again to release the data hold and resume live measurement.

4.5 Differential (DIF) Mode

  • Press the DIF button to activate differential pressure measurement. This mode displays the difference between the two input pressures.
  • Press DIF again to exit differential mode.

4.6 Record (REC) Mode

  • Press the REC button to enter recording mode. The device will start recording maximum (MAX), minimum (MIN), and average (AVG) pressure values.
  • While in REC mode, you can cycle through MAX, MIN, and AVG readings by pressing the REC button repeatedly.
  • To exit REC mode, press and hold the REC button.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your INFURIDER YF-189A differential pressure gauge.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the device in the provided protective bag to shield the ports from dust and rust. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure continuous operation and prevent data loss.
  • Protection Cover: Always use the ABS plastic protection cover over the tube connectors when the device is not in use to prevent damage and contamination.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your INFURIDER YF-189A, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device does not power on:
    • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
    • Replace the batteries with new AAA batteries.
  • Display shows "ERR1" or "ERR2":
    • These error codes indicate that the measured pressure is outside the device's specified range (±6 Psi). Reduce the applied pressure or ensure the pressure is within the operational limits.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Ensure hoses are securely connected and free from kinks or blockages.
    • Verify that the selected unit is appropriate for the measurement.
    • Ensure the device is operating within the specified temperature range (0~40℃).
  • Backlight not working:
    • Check battery level. Low batteries may affect backlight functionality.
