4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

Your walkie talkies come with a built-in 1200 mAh lithium-polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the devices.

  1. Connect the supplied 3-in-1 USB Type-C charging cable to the Type-C port on each walkie talkie.
  2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The charging indicator on the LCD display will show charging status.
  4. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.

Once fully charged, the walkie talkie can operate for up to 24 hours and remain in standby for up to 3 days. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers a safer, more economical, and durable power solution compared to disposable AAA batteries.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the Power/Call button until the LCD screen illuminates.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Power/Call button until the LCD screen turns off.

5.2 Adjusting Volume

Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The walkie talkie features a 9-level silent speaker for clear calls.

5.3 Setting Channels and Privacy Codes

For communication, all walkie talkies must be set to the same channel and privacy code.

  1. Press the Menu/Lock button once to enter channel selection mode. The channel number will flash.
  2. Use the Up and Down buttons to select one of the 16 available channels.
  3. Press the Menu/Lock button again to enter privacy code selection mode. The privacy code will flash.
  4. Use the Up and Down buttons to select one of the 121 interference codes. This helps ensure your conversations are private.
  5. Press the Menu/Lock button a third time or wait a few seconds for the setting to be saved.

The walkie talkies support communication with other brands of UHF two-way devices operating on 446 MHz, provided they are set to the same channel and privacy code.

5.4 Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

  • To transmit: Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button when you finish speaking.
  • To receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive incoming transmissions on the selected channel.

5.5 VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) Hands-Free

The VOX function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. When VOX is enabled, the walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.

  1. Press the Menu/Lock button multiple times until the VOX icon appears on the LCD display.
  2. Use the Up and Down buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (e.g., 1-3, with 3 being most sensitive).
  3. Press the Menu/Lock button or wait for the setting to save.

5.6 LED Flashlight

The integrated LED flashlight can be used for illumination or as an emergency light.

  • To turn on/off: Press the LAMP button or the dedicated Flashlight button.

5.7 Keypad Lock

To prevent accidental changes to settings, you can lock the keypad.

  • To lock: Press and hold the Menu/Lock button until a lock icon appears on the display.
  • To unlock: Press and hold the Menu/Lock button again until the lock icon disappears.

5.8 Automatic Scan

The auto scan feature allows the walkie talkie to scan through channels to find active conversations.

  • To activate: Consult the full manual for specific button combinations, usually involving the Menu button.

5.9 Low Battery Warning

The walkie talkie will provide an audible alert and/or a visual indicator on the LCD display when the battery level is low, signaling that it's time to recharge.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Charge the walkie talkie regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Store the walkie talkie in a cool, dry place when not in use.

6.2 Cleaning

  • Wipe the walkie talkie with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • The device is water-repellent (IP65 rated), meaning it can withstand splashes but should not be submerged in water.
