Setup and Initial Use

Setting the Time

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the right side of the watch case) to position 2.
  2. Adjust the time: Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Ensure the 24-hour sub-dial also aligns correctly with AM/PM.
  3. Push in the crown: Once the time is set, push the crown back into position 1 to start the watch.

Setting the Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown to position 1 (first click).
  2. Adjust the date: Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the specific movement) to set the correct date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the date change mechanism is engaged and could be damaged.
  3. Push in the crown: Push the crown back into its original position.

Setting the Moon Phase

The moon phase display is typically set by a dedicated pusher or by rotating the crown in a specific position. Refer to the detailed diagram below for pusher locations.

  1. Identify the moon phase pusher: Locate the small recessed button on the side of the watch case, usually near the 2 o'clock or 4 o'clock position.
  2. Advance the moon phase: Use a small, non-metallic pointed object (like a toothpick) to gently press the pusher. Each press will advance the moon phase by one day. Consult a moon phase calendar to set it accurately.

  1. Start: Press the upper pusher (button A) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
  2. Stop: Press the upper pusher (button A) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the chronograph hands.
  3. Reset: Press the lower pusher (button B) to reset the chronograph hands to their zero positions. This can only be done when the chronograph is stopped.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust and dirt. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture.
  • Water Resistance: The watch is 3 ATM (30 meters) water resistant. This means it is suitable for splashes, rain, and hand washing. Do not wear it while swimming, diving, or bathing, and avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and battery life.
  • Chemicals: Keep the watch away from chemicals such as solvents, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetics, which can damage the case, strap, or seals.
  • Magnetic Fields: Avoid placing the watch near strong magnetic fields, as this can affect the accuracy of the quartz movement.
  • Battery Replacement: When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping (indicating low battery), have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician. The watch uses 1 CR123A battery.
