6. Setup (Installation)

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your undermount sink. Refer to the included cutout template for precise measurements. Professional installation is recommended.

6.1. Preparing the Countertop

  1. Turn the countertop over to access the underside.
  2. Position the sink on the underside of the countertop according to your desired placement.
  3. Using the sink as a guide, draw a line along the edge of the sink onto the countertop.
  4. Draw a second line 1/2 inch from the first line, towards the center of the cutout area. This will be your drilling guide.

6.2. Drilling Holes for Mounting Clips

  1. Using an electric drill, drill holes of 3/8 inch diameter and 1/2 inch deep along the second line drawn in the previous step. These holes are for the mounting anchors.
  2. Insert the anchors into the drilled holes and lightly tap them with a hammer until they are flush with the countertop surface.

6.3. Attaching Mounting Clips

  1. Place the mounting clips in the direction shown in the installation video, ensuring they align with the anchors.
  2. Fasten the clips securely with screws into the anchors. There are 8 mounting clips corresponding to 8 fixing points around the sink.

7. Operating (Usage)

Your EcoChannels Undermount Kitchen Sink is designed for daily kitchen tasks. The deep single bowl accommodates various items, and the included accessories enhance usability:

  • Use the Bottom Rinse Grid to protect the sink's surface from scratches and allow water to drain freely beneath dishes.

8. Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your stainless steel sink, follow these guidelines:

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, rinse the sink thoroughly with water to remove food particles and soap residue. Wipe the sink with a soft, dry cloth to prevent water spots and maintain the brushed finish.
  • Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring pads, as these can scratch the stainless steel surface.
  • Chemicals: Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or acidic cleaners, which can damage the finish. If contact occurs, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water.
  • Prevent Stains: Do not leave metal objects, such as cast iron pots or steel utensils, in the sink for extended periods, as they can cause rust stains.
  • Drain Strainer: Regularly clean the drain strainer to ensure proper drainage and prevent odors.

9. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Water Spots: If water spots appear, wipe the sink dry after each use. For stubborn spots, use a stainless steel cleaner or a solution of vinegar and water, then rinse and dry.
  • Scratches: Stainless steel can scratch. Minor scratches can be blended with a fine-grit abrasive pad (like Scotch-Brite) by rubbing in the direction of the grain. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.
  • Slow Drainage: Check the drain strainer for blockages. Ensure the plumbing connections are clear and free of debris.
  • Condensation on Underside: The sink is designed with an anti-condensation coating. If condensation occurs, ensure proper ventilation in the cabinet below the sink.
