Setup

1. Initial Winding

As an automatic mechanical watch, it requires an initial manual winding if it has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period. To wind the watch:

  1. Ensure the crown is in position 1 (fully pushed in).
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up sufficient power reserve to start the movement.
  3. Once started, the watch will continue to wind itself through your daily wrist movements.

2. Setting the Time and Date

To set the time and date:

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2 (first click) to adjust the date. Rotate the crown to set the desired date.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 3 (second click) to adjust the time. Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the correct time is displayed.
  3. Once set, push the crown back into position 1 (fully pushed in) to secure the settings and ensure water resistance.

3. Adjusting the Strap

The watch comes with a black silicone strap featuring a buckle clasp. Adjust the strap to a comfortable fit on your wrist, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The buckle allows for easy and secure fastening.

Operating the Watch

Automatic Movement

Your OLEVS watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. This means it does not require a battery. The movement is powered by the kinetic energy generated by your arm and wrist movements throughout the day. When fully wound, the watch has a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop and will need to be manually wound again as described in the Setup section.

Luminous Display

The watch features luminous hands and markers, allowing for readability in low-light conditions. Exposure to light will charge the luminous material, causing it to glow in the dark.

Water Resistance (30m / 98ft)

The OLEVS Model 6779 is water-resistant up to 30 meters (98 feet). This rating means the watch is suitable for daily use, such as splashes, rain, or accidental exposure to water. It is not suitable for bathing, showering, diving, or swimming. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the silicone strap, you can gently clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. A watch box or pouch is recommended to protect it from dust and scratches.

Regular Servicing

Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing (typically every 3-5 years) by a qualified watchmaker. This involves cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting the movement to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: If the watch has stopped, manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times. Ensure you wear it regularly to keep the automatic movement powered.
  • Time inaccuracy: Mechanical watches may have slight variations in accuracy. If the watch is consistently running too fast or too slow, it might require adjustment by a professional watchmaker. Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields, as this can affect accuracy.
  • Water ingress: If you notice condensation or water inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional watchmaker for inspection and repair. Do not attempt to open the watch yourself.
