Key components include:

  • Digital Control Panel: For setting temperature and viewing status.
  • Water Inlet/Outlet: Connections for cold water supply and hot water output.
  • Pressure Relief Valve: A safety device to release excess pressure.

4. Installation and Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the water heater from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit. Retain packaging materials for potential future transport or return.

4.2 Location Requirements

Choose a location that is:

  • Close to the main hot water usage points to minimize heat loss.
  • Protected from freezing temperatures.
  • Capable of supporting the full weight of the water heater when filled (approx. 50 kg + unit weight).
  • Accessible for maintenance and service.

4.3 Plumbing Connections

  1. Install a shut-off valve on the cold water supply line to the water heater.
  2. Connect the cold water supply to the inlet pipe (usually marked blue or with a 'C').
  3. Connect the hot water outlet to your household hot water system (usually marked red or with an 'H').
  4. Install a temperature and pressure relief (T&P) valve according to local codes. Ensure the discharge pipe from the T&P valve is directed downwards to an open drain.

4.4 Electrical Connections

DANGER: Risk of electric shock. Ensure power is OFF before making any electrical connections.

  1. Verify the electrical supply matches the water heater's requirements (230V AC, 1500W).
  2. Connect the water heater to a dedicated, properly grounded circuit.
  3. All wiring must comply with local electrical codes and regulations.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Filling the Tank

Before turning on the power, the water heater tank must be completely filled with water.

  1. Open a hot water faucet in your home to allow air to escape from the tank.
  2. Open the cold water supply valve to the water heater.
  3. Allow water to flow from the hot water faucet until all air is purged and a steady stream of water flows.
  4. Close the hot water faucet.

5.2 Powering On

Once the tank is filled, you can safely turn on the electrical power to the unit.

  1. Turn on the circuit breaker supplying power to the water heater.
  2. The digital display on the control panel will illuminate.

5.3 Setting the Temperature

Use the control panel to adjust the desired water temperature.

  • Press the 'Mode' button to cycle through operating modes (if applicable).
  • Use the '+' and '-' buttons to increase or decrease the target temperature.
  • The display will show the current water temperature and the set temperature.

Note: For energy efficiency and safety, a temperature setting between 49°C (120°F) and 55°C (130°F) is generally recommended. Temperatures above 60°C (140°F) can cause severe burns.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your water heater.

6.1 Draining the Tank (Annual)

Draining the tank annually helps remove sediment buildup.

  1. Turn off the power supply to the water heater at the circuit breaker.
  2. Close the cold water supply valve to the water heater.
  3. Open a hot water faucet in your home to relieve pressure.
  4. Connect a garden hose to the drain valve at the bottom of the water heater and direct it to a suitable drain.
  5. Open the drain valve and allow the tank to drain completely.
  6. Once drained, close the drain valve, remove the hose, and refill the tank as described in Section 5.1 before restoring power.

6.2 T&P Valve Test (Semi-Annual)

Test the temperature and pressure relief valve at least twice a year to ensure it is operating correctly.

  1. Ensure no one is in the path of the discharge.
  2. Carefully lift the lever on the T&P valve to allow a small amount of water to discharge.
  3. Release the lever. Water should stop flowing. If it continues to flow, the valve may need replacement.

CAUTION: Water discharged from the T&P valve may be hot.

7. Troubleshooting
