4. Setup and Installation
The Monzana garden power column offers three installation methods to suit your needs. Ensure the installation location is suitable and that all electrical connections are made by a qualified professional.
4.1 Installation with Ground Spike
This method is ideal for soft ground like soil or lawn.
- Attach the metal ground spike to the bottom of the power column.
- Carefully push or hammer the ground spike into the desired location in the soil or lawn until the column is stable and upright.
- Ensure the column is securely anchored and cannot be easily dislodged.

4.2 Installation by Screwing without Spike
This method is suitable for mounting on a solid surface, such as a wooden deck or concrete slab.
- Position the power column at the desired location.
- Mark the drilling points for the base.
- Drill pilot holes if necessary, then secure the column to the surface using appropriate screws (not included) through the base.
4.3 Installation without Base (Freestanding)
While possible, this method offers less stability and is generally not recommended for permanent outdoor placement. Ensure the column is placed on a flat, stable surface where it cannot be easily knocked over.
Electrical Connection: The power column requires connection to a 220-240V AC power supply. This connection must be performed by a certified electrician to ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards. Ensure the power supply is switched off before any wiring work.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the power column is securely installed and electrically connected by a professional, it is ready for use.
- Ensure the protective flaps over the sockets are closed when not in use to maintain IP44 rating and prevent ingress of water or debris.
- To use a socket, lift the protective flap.
- Insert the plug of your outdoor-rated electrical appliance into the socket.
- Ensure the plug is fully inserted.
- After use, remove the plug and close the protective flap firmly.
The power column supports a maximum power output of 3680 Watts and a current of 16 A. Do not exceed these limits to avoid overloading and potential hazards.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your garden power column.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power column from the main power supply before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the power column for any signs of damage, such as cracks, loose parts, or frayed cables. Check the protective flaps for proper sealing.
- Winterization: While designed for all-season use, in areas with extreme winter conditions, it is advisable to disconnect and store the unit indoors if possible, or ensure it is well-protected from heavy snow and ice.
- Ensure the ground spike (if used) remains firmly anchored. Re-secure if necessary.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MONZANA® Garden Socket, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
