2. Product Components

3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your DEEKOOL TL321 Low Profile Shower Drain:

1. Prepare the Shower Base Opening: Ensure the shower base has an installation hole with a minimum diameter of 3 and 3/16 inches (approximately 81 mm) for the threaded part of the drain to fit through.
2. Assemble Gaskets: Place the lower gasket under the base of the shower enclosure and the upper gasket on top, ensuring a tight seal. The paper spacer should be placed in the opening of the shower room.
3. Insert Drain Body: Insert the drain body through the prepared opening in the shower base. Secure it firmly, ensuring the gaskets are properly seated to prevent leaks.
4. Connect to Drainage Pipe:
   • For 2-inch SCH40 PVC pipe: Connect the 2-inch side outlet of the drain body directly to your existing 2-inch PVC drainage pipe.
   • For 1.5-inch SCH40 PVC pipe: Insert the provided rubber bushing into the 2-inch side outlet of the drain body. Then, connect your 1.5-inch PVC drainage pipe to the rubber bushing. Ensure a secure fit to prevent leaks.
5. Install Perforated Strainer: Place the perforated strainer and decorative cover onto the drain body.
6. Test for Leaks: After installation, run water through the shower drain and inspect for any leaks around the connections and the shower base. Address any leaks immediately by tightening connections or re-seating gaskets.

4. Operating Instructions

  • Solution: Re-check the installation of the upper and lower gaskets. Ensure they are flat and securely compressed. Verify that the connection to the PVC pipe (with or without the rubber bushing) is tight. Replace any damaged gaskets.
• Drain Does Not Fit Shower Base Opening:
  • Cause: Shower base opening is too small.
  • Solution: The drain requires a minimum 3 and 3/16 inch diameter installation hole. If your existing hole is smaller, it may need to be enlarged by a qualified professional.
• Difficulty Connecting 1.5-inch ABS Pipe:
  • Cause: The rubber bushing is designed for 1.5-inch SCH40 PVC pipe. ABS pipe dimensions or material properties may differ, leading to a difficult fit.
