2. Safety Information

WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel. Always disconnect power before working on electrical circuits.

  • Ensure all local and national electrical codes are followed during installation.
  • Do not install or operate the circuit breaker if it appears damaged.
  • Verify the voltage and current ratings of the circuit breaker match the application requirements.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with electricity.

3. Product Features

The CHTAIXI DZ47N-63 miniature circuit breaker incorporates several design elements for reliable circuit protection:

  • Overload Protection: Automatically disconnects the circuit when current exceeds the rated value for a prolonged period.
  • Short-Circuit Protection: Rapidly trips to interrupt the circuit during a sudden, high current surge.
  • Control and Isolation: Can be manually switched ON/OFF to control power flow and isolate circuits for maintenance.
  • C-Curve Tripping Characteristic: Magnetic trip range is 5-10 times the rated current, suitable for general applications.
  • Silver Alloy Contacts: Designed to reduce heat generation and arcing during disconnection, enhancing durability.
  • Flame Retardant Material Shell: Provides enhanced safety in case of electrical faults.
  • Color Indicator: Visually indicates the ON/OFF status of the breaker.

4.3 Wiring Connections

  1. Ensure the main power supply is OFF before making any connections.
  2. Connect the incoming live wire to the top terminal of the circuit breaker.
  3. Connect the outgoing live wire to the bottom terminal of the circuit breaker.
  4. For soft silicone wires, it is recommended to crimp the wire ends with copper crimps before inserting them into the screw clamp terminals.
  5. Tighten the screw clamp wires to a torque of 2.5 N.m to ensure a secure connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Turning ON/OFF

  • To turn the circuit breaker ON, push the toggle switch upwards. The color indicator will show green.
  • To turn the circuit breaker OFF, push the toggle switch downwards. The color indicator will show red.

5.2 Tripping Mechanism

In the event of an overload or short circuit, the circuit breaker will automatically trip, moving the toggle switch to the OFF position (red indicator). This action protects the circuit from damage.

6. Maintenance

  • Periodically inspect the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
  • Ensure the area around the circuit breaker is clean and free from dust or debris to prevent overheating.
  • Do not attempt to repair a damaged circuit breaker; replace it with a new one of the same specifications.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Breaker Trips Frequently

  • Overload: The circuit may be drawing more current than the breaker's rated capacity. Disconnect some devices from the circuit or redistribute the load.
  • Short Circuit: A direct connection between live and neutral/ground wires. This requires immediate investigation by a qualified electrician to identify and rectify the fault.
  • Faulty Appliance: An appliance connected to the circuit may be defective. Unplug all appliances and plug them back in one by one to identify the faulty device.

7.2 Breaker Does Not Reset

  • If the breaker does not reset after addressing a trip, there might be a persistent fault in the circuit or the breaker itself may be damaged. Do not force the switch. Consult a qualified electrician.
