3. Setup and Programming

Programming your BeanKOneal TX301 remote is a straightforward process. Ensure your garage door is closed before beginning the programming steps.

Step-by-step programming guide for the garage door remote

Image 3.1: Visual step-by-step instructions for programming the remote.

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Garage Door Opener

Ensure your garage door is closed. Locate the "Learn" button on your garage door opener head unit. The location may vary depending on your opener model (often on the back or side panel).

  2. Step 2: Activate Remote Programming Mode

On the TX301 remote, press and hold buttons A and B simultaneously until the red LED on the remote flashes quickly. Then release both buttons.

  3. Step 3: Select Learn Button Color and Press Count

Determine the color of the "Learn" button on your garage door opener. Press the desired button on the TX301 remote (A, B, C, or D) a specific number of times corresponding to your opener's learn button color:

    • 1 Time: Yellow Learn Button (Security+2.0 310/315/390MHz)
    • 2 Times: Purple Learn Button (Security+ 315MHz)
    • 3 Times: Red/Orange Learn Button (Security+ 390MHz)
    • 4 Times: Green Learn Button (Billion Code 390MHz)

After pressing the button the required number of times, the remote's LED will blink to indicate the code is saved.

  4. Step 4: Pair with Garage Door Opener

Press and release the "Learn" button on your garage door opener panel. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the TX301 remote that you just programmed (A, B, C, or D) until you hear two clicks from the garage door opener or the opener's light flashes.

Your remote is now programmed. Test the button to ensure it operates your garage door correctly.

4. Operating Instructions

The BeanKOneal TX301 remote allows you to control up to four different garage door openers independently using its four programmable buttons (A, B, C, D).

4.1 Controlling Multiple Doors

Image 4.1: The remote can be programmed to control up to four individual garage doors.

Each button (A, B, C, D) can be programmed to a different garage door opener. This eliminates the need to carry multiple remotes for different doors.

  • To open or close a programmed garage door, simply press the corresponding button on the remote.
  • The remote has an operating range of up to 200 feet, allowing you to activate your garage door from a distance.

4.2 Sliding Button Cover

Image 4.2: The remote features a sliding cover to prevent accidental button presses.

Slide the cover up to expose the buttons for use, and slide it down to cover them when not in use. This feature helps prevent unintended activation of your garage door, especially when the remote is carried in a pocket or bag.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The BeanKOneal TX301 remote uses one Lithium Metal battery (included). When the remote's range decreases or the LED indicator becomes dim, it's time to replace the battery.

  1. Carefully open the remote casing.
  2. Remove the old battery.
  3. Insert a new Lithium Metal battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the remote casing securely.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while programming or operating your remote, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Remote not pairing or working:
    • Verify compatibility: Double-check that your garage door opener's learn button color and model are listed as compatible.
    • Ensure the garage door is closed before programming. Some openers require this.
    • Re-attempt programming: Follow the instructions in Section 3 precisely.
    • Clear existing codes: Press and hold the "Learn" button on your garage door opener panel until the LED turns off. This erases all previously programmed remotes. You will then need to reprogram all desired remotes and keypads.
    • Check battery: Ensure the remote has a fresh battery.
  • Reduced operating range:
    • Replace the remote's battery.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the garage door opener.

If problems persist, please contact customer support for further assistance.
