Maintenance
Cleaning the Exterior:
- Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
- Never immerse the kettle body or power base in water or any other liquid.
Descaling (Removing Limescale):
Limescale buildup can affect the kettle's performance and lifespan. Descale regularly, especially in areas with hard water.
- Vinegar Method: Fill the kettle with 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or boil the mixture for a few minutes if the buildup is severe. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
- Citric Acid Method: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of citric acid powder in 1 liter of water. Pour into the kettle and boil. Let it stand for 15-20 minutes, then empty and rinse thoroughly.
- After descaling, boil fresh water 2-3 times and discard to remove any residual descaling agent.
