1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the KETOTEK Wattmeter Plug Energy Meter (Model: KTEM01BLFR). This device is designed to accurately monitor the power consumption of your household appliances, helping you understand and manage your energy usage. It features 11 monitoring modes, a clear backlit LCD screen, data memory, and essential protection functions.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Components

The KETOTEK Wattmeter consists of a main unit with an integrated FR plug, a display screen, and control buttons.

  • LCD Display: Shows various measurement parameters.
  • MODE Button: Cycles through display modes and selects settings.
  • SET Button: Enters and saves settings.
  • UP Button: Increases values during settings adjustment.
  • DOWN Button: Decreases values during settings adjustment, also controls backlight.
  • FR Plug: For connecting to a standard French wall outlet.
  • FR Socket: For connecting an appliance.

3.2 Display Modes (11 Modes)

The wattmeter offers 11 different display modes to monitor various electrical parameters:

  1. Mode 1: Power (W) - Displays current power consumption in Watts.
  2. Mode 2: Accumulated Electricity Consumption (kWh) - Shows total energy consumed in kilowatt-hours.
  3. Mode 3: CO2 Emission (kgCO2) - Estimates CO2 emissions based on energy consumption.
  4. Mode 4: Voltage (V) & Frequency (Hz) - Displays current voltage and frequency.
  5. Mode 5: Current (A) & Power Factor - Shows current in Amperes and the power factor.
  6. Mode 6: Minimum Power (W) - Records the lowest power consumption detected.
  7. Mode 7: Maximum Power (W) - Records the highest power consumption detected.
  8. Mode 8: Overload Alarm (W) - Displays the set overload threshold.
  9. Mode 9: Cost Alarm (Currency) - Displays the set cost alarm threshold.
  10. Mode 10: kWh Alarm (kWh) - Displays the set kWh alarm threshold.
  11. Mode 11: Electricity Cost (Currency) - Calculates and displays the total electricity cost.

4. Setup

  1. Initial Connection: Plug the KETOTEK Wattmeter into a standard FR wall outlet.
  2. Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the wattmeter.
  3. Power On: The device will automatically power on and display the default monitoring mode.

5. Operation

The following instructions detail how to use the various functions of your KETOTEK Wattmeter.

5.1 Changing Display Modes

Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the 11 available display modes (refer to Section 3.2 for a list of modes).

5.2 Setting Electricity Cost

To accurately calculate electricity costs, you need to set your local electricity price per kWh:

  1. Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter the electricity price setting mode.
  2. Press the MODE button to select the digit you wish to adjust.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the value of the selected digit.
  4. Once the desired price is set, press the SET button to save the settings.

5.3 Setting Overload Alarm

The device features an overload protection alarm. The default overload power is 3680W, adjustable from 0 to 3680W.

  1. Press and hold the MODE and SET buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the overload alarm setting mode.
  2. Press the MODE button to select the digit you wish to adjust.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the value.
  4. Press the SET button to save the overload setting.

5.4 Setting kWh Alarm

You can set an alarm for accumulated kWh consumption:

  1. Press and hold the MODE and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the kWh alarm setting mode.
  2. Press the MODE button to select the digit you wish to adjust.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the value.
  4. Press the SET button to save the kWh alarm setting.

5.5 Setting Cost Alarm

You can set an alarm for the total electricity cost:

  1. Press and hold the MODE and UP buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the cost alarm setting mode.
  2. Press the MODE button to select the digit you wish to adjust.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the value.
  4. Press the SET button to save the cost alarm setting.

5.6 Data Memory Function

The KETOTEK Wattmeter is equipped with a high-precision chip that automatically saves data in case of a power outage. Data is stored permanently, allowing you to unplug the device and view readings without losing information.

5.7 Clearing Data

To clear accumulated data (cost, kWh, CO2, min/max power, total time) without resetting other settings:

  1. Press and hold the DOWN button for 5 seconds until the screen flashes.
  2. Then, press the MODE button to clear all accumulated data.

5.8 Reset Function

To perform a full factory reset, which clears all data and restores default settings:

  1. Locate the small reset button (usually a pinhole) on the device.
  2. Use a thin, pointed object (like a paperclip) to press and hold the reset button until the display clears or resets.

5.9 Backlight and Time Settings

The device features a backlit LCD screen for easy reading in dark areas. The default backlight duration is 10 minutes.

  1. Turn Backlight On/Off: Press the DOWN button to toggle the backlight on or off. Pressing any button will activate the backlight if it's off.
  2. Adjust Backlight Duration: Press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously to enter the backlight duration setting mode. Use UP or DOWN to adjust the duration (e.g., 'BL-0' for off, 'BL-1' for 1 minute, 'BL-' for continuous). Press SET to save.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display is blank or not turning on.No power to the outlet; device malfunction.Check if the wall outlet is working. Try plugging another device into the outlet. If the problem persists, the wattmeter may be faulty.
Readings seem inaccurate.Incorrect electricity cost setting; device malfunction.Verify your electricity cost setting (Section 5.2). Perform a full reset (Section 5.8). If still inaccurate, compare with another known measurement device.
Overload alarm triggers frequently.Connected appliance exceeds set overload limit; overload limit set too low.Check the power consumption of your appliance. Adjust the overload alarm limit if necessary (Section 5.3), ensuring it does not exceed the device's maximum capacity (3680W).
Backlight not working or staying on.Backlight duration setting; device malfunction.Check and adjust the backlight duration setting (Section 5.9).
Data is lost after unplugging.Internal battery issue (for data retention); device malfunction.The device has an internal battery (CR2032) for data retention. If data is consistently lost, the battery may need replacement or there is a device fault.
