Generic Remote Control User Manual

For Tempstar DG11D1/02, Totaline DG11D1/02, and AIR Control ACH-12/ACH-18 Portable Air Conditioners

Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your new Generic replacement remote control. This remote is designed for use with specific portable air conditioner models, including Tempstar DG11D1/02, Totaline DG11D1/02, AIR Control ACH-12, and AIR Control ACH-18. Setup

Battery Installation

To begin using your remote control, you must install batteries. The remote requires two AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert two new AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Important Note:

  • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
  • Use only new, high-quality AAA batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Initial Use

Once batteries are installed, the remote control is ready for use. No complex pairing or programming is typically required. Point the remote directly at your air conditioner and press the desired function button.

Compatibility Notice:

This replacement remote may not support all functions present on your original air conditioner remote. If your specific air conditioner model number is not listed in the title of this product, this remote may not be compatible.

Operating Instructions

Button Functions

  • POWER: Turns the air conditioner ON or OFF.
  • MODE: Cycles through operating modes (e.g., Cool, Fan, Dry, Heat - depending on AC unit capabilities).
  • FAN: Adjusts the fan speed (e.g., Low, Medium, High, Auto).
  • SWING: Activates or deactivates the air swing function.
  • SLEEP: Engages the sleep mode for comfortable nighttime operation.
  • TIMER: Sets the timer for automatic ON/OFF operation.
  • SUPER: Activates a rapid cooling or heating function (if supported by AC).
  • SMART: Engages an intelligent operating mode that automatically adjusts settings.
  • Temperature Up/Down Arrows: Adjusts the desired temperature setting. The display shows temperature in Celsius.

Display Information

The LCD screen on the remote control displays current settings such as operating mode, fan speed, and set temperature. Please note that the temperature is displayed in Celsius.

Note on Displayed Time:

The estimated time displayed on the remote control may not be accurate. Rely on the air conditioner's response for operational timing.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote control's range decreases or if the display becomes dim or unresponsive. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.

Cleaning

Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive pads, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Storage

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the air conditioner's receiver.
    • Verify that you are within the effective operating range of the air conditioner.
  • Some functions do not work:
    • This is a replacement remote and may not support all advanced or specific functions of your original air conditioner remote.
    • Confirm that your air conditioner model is listed as compatible.
  • Display is dim or blank:
    • Replace the batteries.
