Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The Tapo T100 Motion Sensor is powered by a single CR2450 battery (included). Based on typical usage (100 triggers per day), the battery can last up to 2 years. When the battery is low, the Tapo App will notify you. To replace the battery:

  1. Gently detach the sensor from its mounting location.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  3. Open the compartment and replace the old CR2450 battery with a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the compartment and re-mount the sensor.

Note: Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Tapo T100 Motion Sensor, consider the following:

  • Sensor Not Detecting Motion:
    • Check battery level in the Tapo App.
    • Ensure the sensor is placed within the optimal detection range and angle (120° angle, up to 23 feet).
    • Adjust sensitivity settings in the Tapo App.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor's field of view.
  • No Notifications:
    • Verify that notifications are enabled for the Tapo App on your smartphone.
    • Check your internet connection and Tapo Hub status.
    • Ensure Smart Actions for notifications are correctly configured in the Tapo App.
