4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Ball Head (BH-36)

  • Main Locking Knob: Loosen this knob to adjust the angle of your camera (tilt and swivel). Tighten it to lock the camera in position.

4.3 Monopod Conversion

One of the tripod legs can be detached and combined with the center column to form a monopod:

  1. Unscrew the leg that has a foam grip (usually indicated).
  2. Remove the center column from the tripod body.
  3. Screw the detached leg onto the bottom of the center column.
  4. Attach the ball head to the top of the assembled monopod.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After use, especially in dusty or sandy environments, wipe down the tripod with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. For sand in leg locks, extend the legs fully and clean thoroughly to prevent damage.
  • Lubrication: Moving parts generally do not require lubrication. If any part becomes stiff, consult K&F CONCEPT support before applying any lubricants.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all screws, knobs, and leg locks for tightness. Tighten any loose components to ensure stability and safety.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Tripod is wobbly at full height: Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and all twist locks are securely tightened. For maximum stability, avoid extending the thinnest leg sections or the center column to their absolute maximum if not necessary. Distribute weight evenly.
  • Leg sections are stiff or difficult to extend/retract: This may be due to dirt or sand inside the leg locks. Fully extend the affected leg section, clean the twist lock mechanism thoroughly, and ensure no debris is present. Do not force the mechanism.
  • Camera not securely mounted: Verify that the quick release plate is properly attached to your camera and that the quick release clamp on the ball head is fully closed and tightened.
  • Ball head movement is not smooth: Check that the main locking knob is sufficiently loosened. If the issue persists, ensure no debris is obstructing the ball head mechanism.
