The Acer KB272 EBI monitor is designed for home, gaming, or office use, featuring a 27-inch Full HD IPS display with AMD FreeSync Technology, a 1ms Visual Response Boost (VRB) response time, and a 100Hz refresh rate (via HDMI). It also incorporates Acer VisionCare technology for reduced eye strain.

Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to ensure safe operation and to prolong the life of your monitor:

  • Do not expose the monitor to rain or moisture.
  • Do not open the monitor casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Place the monitor on a stable, flat surface to prevent it from falling.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the monitor. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Use only the power adapter supplied with the monitor.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet if the monitor will not be used for an extended period.

Setup

1. Assembling the Monitor Stand

Carefully remove the monitor and its components from the packaging. Place the monitor face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.

  1. Attach the stand neck to the monitor panel. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  2. Attach the stand base to the stand neck. Tighten the screw at the bottom of the base to secure it.

2. Connecting the Monitor

The monitor supports both HDMI and VGA connections. Choose the appropriate cable for your computer.

  • HDMI Connection: Connect one end of the HDMI cable (included) to the HDMI port on your computer's graphics card and the other end to the HDMI port on the monitor.
  • VGA Connection: Connect one end of the VGA cable (not included) to the VGA port on your computer and the other end to the VGA port on the monitor.
  • Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the monitor's power input, then plug the other end into a grounded electrical outlet.

3. VESA Wall Mounting (Optional)

The monitor is VESA mounting compliant (100 x 100mm). To wall mount, remove the stand and attach a compatible VESA mount (sold separately) to the four screw holes on the back of the monitor.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press the power button located on the back right side of the monitor to turn it on or off. The power indicator light will illuminate when the monitor is on.

2. Adjusting Display Settings (OSD Menu)

The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. The control buttons are located on the back right side of the monitor.

  • Press any OSD button to activate the OSD menu.
  • Use the navigation buttons to move through the menu options.
  • Press the select button to enter a sub-menu or confirm a selection.
  • Common adjustable settings include Brightness, Contrast, Color Temperature, Input Source, and Picture Mode.

3. AMD FreeSync Technology

This monitor supports AMD FreeSync technology, which synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with your graphics card's frame rate to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering during gaming. Ensure your graphics card supports AMD FreeSync and that the feature is enabled in your graphics card's control panel.

4. 100Hz Refresh Rate and Flicker-Free Technology

The 100Hz refresh rate provides smoother motion and reduces eye strain compared to lower refresh rates. Combined with flicker-free technology, it offers a more comfortable viewing experience, especially during prolonged use.

5. IPS Panel and Wide Viewing Angle

The In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel technology ensures consistent and accurate colors from wide viewing angles, up to 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. This is beneficial for collaborative work or viewing content from different positions.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Monitor

  • Always unplug the monitor from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a non-abrasive screen cleaner to wipe the screen.
  • For the monitor casing, use a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the screen or casing.

Storage

If storing the monitor for an extended period, disconnect all cables and store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging to protect it from dust and physical damage.
