Setup
Follow these steps to set up your TrueMix 800FX audio mixer:
- Power Connection: Connect the included power adapter to the "DC IN 18V 1.2A" port on the rear of the mixer and plug it into a power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.

- Input Connections:
- Microphones: For dynamic or condenser microphones, use XLR cables to connect to the MIC inputs (Channels 1-4). Activate 48V phantom power if using condenser microphones by pressing the PHANTOM button.
- Instruments/Line-Level Devices: Connect instruments (e.g., guitars, keyboards) or other line-level audio sources using ¼” TRS cables to the LINE inputs (Channels 1-4) or the STEREO 1/4" INs (Channels 5/6 and 7/8).
- Bluetooth Devices: To stream audio wirelessly, press the BLUETOOTH pairing button. Once paired, you can stream audio from your smartphone or tablet.

- Output Connections:
- Main Output: Connect your powered speakers, amplifiers, or recording devices to the ¼” MAIN LINE OUT ports.
- Headphones: Plug up to four headphones into the HEADPHONE OUTS. Each output has an independent level control.
- USB Audio Interface: Connect the mixer to your Mac or PC using the included USB cable for plug-and-play recording and playback. The USB output sends a copy of the main outputs to your computer.
Operating the Mixer
Understanding the controls of your TrueMix 800FX is essential for optimal performance:
- Channel Controls: Each input channel (1-8) features dedicated controls:
- GAIN: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel.
- EQ (HIGH/LOW): Two-band equalizer to shape the tone of your audio.
- MON: Controls the level sent to the monitor output.
- EFX: Adjusts the amount of signal sent to the built-in effects processor.
- PAN: Positions the channel's signal within the stereo field (left to right).

- The VARIATION knob adjusts parameters of the selected effect.
- The EFX RETURN (TO MAIN) knob controls the overall level of the effects sent to the main mix.
- Press EFX MUTE to temporarily disable the effects.

- Monitoring and Main Output:
- The MAIN OUT LEVEL knob controls the overall volume of the main mix.
- The eight-segment LED VU meter provides visual feedback on your main output levels.
- Adjust individual headphone volumes using their respective knobs in the HEADPHONE/CONTROL ROOM section.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ALTO TrueMix 800FX mixer, follow these maintenance guidelines:
