5. Operating Instructions
Understanding how to properly operate your BMX bike ensures a safe and enjoyable riding experience.
5.1 Rider Sizing
The AVASTA Rubato 18'' BMX bike is recommended for riders with a height between 3'5" (104 cm) and 4'3" (130 cm), typically aged 5 to 9 years. Proper sizing is crucial for control and comfort.

5.2 Seat Height Adjustment
Adjust the seat height so that the rider can comfortably touch the ground with the balls of their feet when seated. For beginners, a slightly lower seat height can provide more confidence and easier stopping.
5.3 Braking Technique
The bike is equipped with linear pull brakes (U-brakes) for precise speed control. Practice braking in a safe, open area. Apply both front and rear brakes simultaneously and gradually to avoid skidding or losing control. The front brake provides more stopping power, while the rear brake helps with stability.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance extends the life of your bike and ensures safe operation.
- Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure before each ride. Maintain the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) indicated on the tire sidewall.
- Chain Lubrication: Lubricate the chain regularly, especially after riding in wet conditions. Use a bicycle-specific chain lubricant.
- Brake Adjustment: Periodically check brake pad wear and cable tension. Adjust as needed to ensure effective braking.
- Cleaning: Clean your bike regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid high-pressure washers, which can damage bearings.
- Bolt Tightness: Periodically check all bolts and nuts for tightness, especially on the handlebars, seat post, wheels, and crankset.
- Storage: Store the bike in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to prevent rust and material degradation.
