4. Setup and Installation
The installation process for converting your crib to a full-size bed is designed to be straightforward, typically taking 20-30 minutes. Follow these steps carefully.

Step-by-Step Guide:
- Disassemble the Crib: Completely disassemble your crib using its original instruction sheet. Keep all bolts and mattress support for future use. If converting from a toddler bed/daybed, retrieve your footboard from storage and proceed.
- Attach Bed Rails to Headboard: Insert the hooks of one bed rail into the corresponding slots on the headboard. Push down firmly to lock it into place. Repeat for the second bed rail on the other side of the headboard.
- Attach Bed Rails to Footboard: Attach the other end of both bed rails to the footboard in the same manner, ensuring they are securely locked into place.
- Attach Support Slats: Place the 4 wooden support slats across the bed rails. Secure each slat using the 8 screws provided with a screwdriver (2 screws per slat, one on each end). Recommended placement: Place one slat near the headboard, one near the footboard, and space the others evenly in between.
Important Note on Hooks: This conversion kit is designed to work with your crib. However, due to different models and production runs, it's possible the hooks may not fit your crib perfectly. If this occurs, please contact us for alternate hooks at no extra charge.

Mattress Support Options:
Mattress support is required for the conversion kit. You can use a box spring or additional slats.

Choosing Slats over a Box Spring: To keep the mattress lower and potentially save costs, you can purchase an additional set of slats (sold separately) instead of using a box spring. This can lower the mattress by up to 10 inches, making it easier and safer for a child to get in and out of bed.

5. Usage and Operation
Once assembled, your crib is now a full-size bed. Ensure the mattress is properly supported by either a box spring or sufficient slats. The bed is designed to accommodate a standard full-size mattress.
6. Maintenance
To maintain the quality and appearance of your bed rails, wipe them with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
7. Troubleshooting
Hooks Do Not Fit: In rare cases, if the bed rail hooks do not fit securely into your crib's headboard or footboard, please contact CC KITS customer support. We can provide alternate hooks at no extra charge to ensure proper fit and safety.
