3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Power Supply Connection

Connect the module to a DC 12V power source as follows:

  • IN+: Connect the positive terminal of the DC 12V power supply.
  • IN-: Connect the negative terminal of the DC 12V power supply.

Caution: Ensure the correct polarity to prevent damage to the module.

3.2 Relay Connections

The relay provides three terminals for connecting your load:

  • COM (Common): This is the common terminal for the relay switch.
  • NO (Normally Open): Before the relay is activated (closed), this terminal is open (suspended) from COM. When the relay is activated, NO becomes shorted with COM.
  • NC (Normally Closed): Before the relay is activated (closed), this terminal is shorted with COM. When the relay is activated, NC becomes open (suspended) from COM.

Choose the appropriate NO or NC connection based on your application's requirements (e.g., normally off or normally on behavior).

4. Operating Instructions

This module is currently designed to support Android systems only, not iOS.

4.1 Mobile Application Installation

After correctly connecting the module, install the "Bluetooth Smart Control" application on your Android phone. This app is typically available on Android app stores.

4.2 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Open the "Bluetooth Smart Control" app on your Android phone.
  2. Search for available Bluetooth devices. The module may appear with a name such as "JDY-33-SPP" or similar.
  3. Select the module and connect. The pairing password is 1234.

4.3 Sending Control Commands

To control the relay, you will send specific hexadecimal serial port instructions via the app:

  1. Within the "Bluetooth Smart Control" app interface, long-press the gray box to add a serial port instruction.
  2. Input a name for the instruction (e.g., "Relay ON").
  3. Enter the instruction content:
    • To turn ON the relay: A00101A2
    • To turn OFF the relay: A00100A1
  4. Select the option to send the instruction in hexadecimal form.
  5. Click the corresponding box in the app to send the instruction and control the relay's switch state.

Alternatively, you can download other general Bluetooth terminal applications from the Android App Store and configure them to send these hexadecimal instructions.

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Care

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your JESSINIE Bluetooth Relay Module, follow these general maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep Dry: Avoid exposing the module to moisture, water, or high humidity, which can damage electronic components.
  • Clean Gently: If cleaning is necessary, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Temperature Control: Operate and store the module within its specified operating temperature range (20 Degrees Celsius). Avoid extreme heat or cold.
  • Secure Connections: Periodically check that all wire connections to the terminal blocks are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Avoid Physical Shock: Protect the module from drops or impacts that could damage the PCB or components.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Issue: Module cannot be found or paired by the mobile app.
    Solution:
    1. Ensure the module is powered correctly (12V DC).
    2. Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your Android phone.
    3. Make sure the phone is within the 10m operating range of the module.
    4. Confirm the pairing password is 1234.
    5. Try restarting both the module (by cycling power) and the phone's Bluetooth.
  • Issue: Relay does not respond to commands from the app.
    Solution:
    1. Check if the module is successfully paired and connected to the app. The Bluetooth status indicator on the module should confirm connection.
    2. Verify that the hexadecimal commands (A00101A2 for ON, A00100A1 for OFF) are entered correctly and sent in hexadecimal format.
    3. Ensure the relay's load connections (COM, NO, NC) are correct and the load itself is functional.
    4. Check the relay indicator on the module; it should change state when a command is sent.
  • Issue: "Bluetooth Smart Control" app is difficult to use or not working as expected.
    Solution:
    1. Ensure your Android operating system is up to date.
    2. Consider trying an alternative general-purpose "Serial Bluetooth Terminal" app from the Android App Store. Many such apps allow you to configure custom hexadecimal macros for sending commands.
    3. Refer to the app's specific instructions or support if available.
  • Issue: Module is not powering on.
    Solution:
    1. Double-check the 12V DC power supply connection to IN+ and IN- for correct polarity and secure contact.
    2. Test the power supply to ensure it is providing 12V DC.
