3. Setup and Initial Use
3.1. Charging the Watch
As a solar-powered watch, the RN-TX0203S converts light into electrical energy to power the movement. To ensure optimal performance, expose the watch dial to a light source (natural or artificial) for several hours before initial use and regularly thereafter. Avoid prolonged storage in darkness.
3.2. Setting the Time and Date
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set (the date changes around midnight).
- Push the crown back to the normal position.
- To set the date, pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown to adjust the date.
- Push the crown back to the normal position.
3.3. Adjusting the Bracelet
The metal bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links to achieve a comfortable fit. This procedure typically requires specialized tools and is best performed by a qualified watch technician to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Timekeeping
The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds. The small sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position indicates the running seconds for regular timekeeping.
4.2. Using the Chronograph Function
The chronograph function allows for precise measurement of elapsed time. The large central second hand is used for the chronograph seconds, while the sub-dials at 6 and 3 o'clock measure elapsed minutes and hours, respectively.
- Start: Press the upper pusher (button A) to start the chronograph. The central second hand will begin to move.
- Stop: Press the upper pusher (button A) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be displayed.
- Reset: After stopping, press the lower pusher (button B) to reset the chronograph hands to their zero positions.
4.3. Using the Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, which can be used to measure elapsed time up to 60 minutes. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero marker with the minute hand. The elapsed time can then be read from the bezel scale as the minute hand progresses.

5. Maintenance and Care
5.1. Water Resistance
The Orient RN-TX0203S is water resistant to 20 ATM (200 meters), making it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and recreational diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
5.2. Cleaning Your Watch
Wipe the watch case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using chemical cleaners or abrasive materials, which can damage the watch's finish.
5.3. Storage
When not in use, store the watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. To maintain the solar charge, periodically expose the watch to light.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Watch Not Running or Stopping
- Insufficient Charge: Ensure the watch has been adequately exposed to light for charging. Place it under a strong light source for several hours.
- Crown Position: Check that the crown is fully pushed in to the normal operating position.
6.2. Incorrect Time or Date
- Resetting: Follow the instructions in Section 3.2 to correctly set the time and date.
If issues persist after attempting these troubleshooting steps, please contact Orient customer support or an authorized service center.
