2. Installation Instructions

Proper installation of the filters is crucial for maintaining optimal vacuum performance and air filtration.

2.1. Locating Filter Compartments

  1. Pre-Motor Filters (Foam & Felt): These are typically located beneath the dust cup of your Shark Navigator vacuum.
  2. Post-Motor Exhaust Filter: This filter is usually found at the front or rear of the vacuum's main body, often behind a removable grille or cover.

2.2. Replacing Pre-Motor Filters

  1. Ensure the vacuum is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the dust cup from the vacuum cleaner.
  3. Carefully lift out the old foam and felt filters. Note their orientation for correct placement of new filters.
  4. Insert the new pre-motor felt filter, followed by the new foam filter, ensuring they sit snugly in their designated spots.
  5. Reattach the dust cup to the vacuum.

2.3. Replacing Post-Motor Exhaust Filter

  1. Ensure the vacuum is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the post-motor filter cover (refer to your vacuum's original manual if unsure). This may involve pressing a release button or tab.
  3. Remove the cover and carefully extract the old post-motor exhaust filter.
  4. Insert the new post-motor exhaust filter into the compartment.
  5. Securely close the filter cover until it clicks into place.

If you experience issues with your vacuum after filter replacement, consider the following:

  • Reduced Suction: Ensure all filters are clean and properly installed. Check for any blockages in the vacuum's hose or brush roll.
